(I know it's just the sprite before she takes off her mask but it's a rlly funny concept to me that sometimes she has to pause and wait to be able to see properly again- usually at the worst possible times)

I'm pretty sure someone has already talked about this-but I can't help but think about Hellen's face situation. Like, imagine going about your day and something agonizingly rearranges your face beyond recognition. Even worse yet, she believes her face is so terrible that she doesn't show it unless needing to. On that note, maybe Hellen's strong belief that people will be terrified of her face is what makes it terrifying? Looking at everything else in Look Outside, I'd imagine that the other party members don't think her face is terrible, but Hellen's sheer belief gives it that effect anyways. Which might lend to how the Rat Baby didn't run away when it saw her face-Rat Baby didn't have much understanding in terms of such concepts, so those concepts ceased to apply to it.

I suppose it's similar to somebody who's never had an issue with insects not having a grasp on which ones may hurt? (I could be talking nonsense though)

there's so many good characters in Look Outside, but i really love this guy who got turned into a giant brain and offers to tell you about mental afflictions, but clarifies 'yeah everyone's always asking me about these cause i'm a big brain, but i don't know anything about them and just look up the answers on my phone'
