people are so weird about gerard way. his pronouns are he/they but alot of fans exclusively refer to them as "she". I dont really care if you do it every now and then (i have) because gerard has said they identify with a femme gender spectrum, but also people get so weird about it. also the way some people talk about his body is...borderline violating. it's his body, not yours.
can we lose our mind about the heavy room in the paramour a little more frequently. as a collective.
My Chemical Romance definitely bled to make The Black Parade. They set aside one room in The Paramour Mansion and it became dubbed The Heavy Room. Inside it, they tore each other to shreds. They made a rule that they would be absolutely honest with each other in there, sometimes brutally so. They would have no-holds-barred conversations about the record, their playing, their personal lives and their relationships with each other. It was an utterly draining form of bloodletting but they felt this honesty was vital. "Mentally, we were beating each other up," said Ray. "We were getting to the root of some really deep problems. We would spend hours and hours in that room, having long conversations while the little demons we all carried inside of us came out. As close as we all are, we all have things within us that we hold to ourselves. No matter how much time we spend with each other, we all have our little demons inside the closet. Sometimes you have to let those things go. That's just one of the things that was going on in The Heavy Room." "There were times when it got so hard making this record," said Gerard. "It was nothing personal between band members but we felt like we were all going through something hard and that became daunting, so we'd say to each other, 'Well, we're going to have to have another talk in The Heavy Room.' It was a room that drained our souls out. It drained everything out of you. It took all your energy because we just talked and talked in there. We talked about everything." Rob Cavallo — who Gerard would come to describe as "our therapist, big brother, dad and uncle all rolled into one" — and the band's lawyer and friend Stacy Fass were the only people outside of the band who were allowed in. Cavallo would oversee their conversations, half a concerned onlooker, half understanding the necessity of the procedure. He thinks that the band's blunt honesty in The Heavy Room helped them avoid making compromises because they were more concerned about the work than protecting egos. "All of them together are the nicest bunch of guys," he says, "but sometimes being nice isn't necessarily the thing that helps you. Sometimes you need to dare to be really honest and to confront those feelings so that everyone knows and momentum isn't lost. So we would go into the Heavy Room to do that. "Whether it was Gerard breaking up with his girlfriend, or guys having certain feelings about what other guys were playing, or the direction of the record, we would go into The Heavy Room and talk it out. It was a safe place for people to say the truth without wanting to kill each other." While some of the truths were hard to hear, the airing of them served to focus minds. The conversations in the room were not pleasant, nor were they easy. But there was something about the absolute honesty there that brought them closer.

why are people acting like mcr's ticket prices are exceptional within the arena venue world? just from a quick glance in comparison they are at the same level as other big names touring near me. i understand the issue with ticketmaster, scalpers, etc, but that is not an issue unique to them. i suppose the critique is that they should do better against capitalism but their show has to employ well over 100 people behind the scenes, includes insane pyrotechnics, intricate timing situations that includes a stunt man hired to run across stage wearing a jacket on fire, lighting, sound design, all of the "explosions", props, costumes, costume design, like at least 30 actors that show up on stage (in costume), travel fees for all those people, plus whatever else goes into running a giant stage show that I dont know about. they also have big name bands opening for them which I assume is also a paycheck they need to cover? I dont think the prices mean they hate or are even disrespecting their fans, disrespect would be asking for that amount and then not delivering anything worthwhile to view in any given way. like i literally remember being aware of expensive prices for arena shows in 2019, and everything has gotten alooooot more expensive since then. arenas cost alot, their merch is alot of money (that does suck alot im not gonna lie or even suggest otherwise), but also i dont know if that's their fault or the venue's fault? i understand it sucks, that now is an awful time and people aren't making as much as they used to, and maybe i sound like a bootlicker, but the ticket money doesnt just go directly to 4 guys' pockets??? They have to support an entire ecosystem that depends on them for a living wage, and everything I've heard from people who work with them is that they're great to tour/work with. but the cure-- the cure have been around a lot longer, maybe they can afford to pay more out of pocket, im not really sure. The scalpers is FOR SURE an issue but I dont think???you can blame a band for that??? idk i just dont understand why people are acting like the band are greedy evil bajillionaires when they are not? like can they afford to sustain themselves yes, but I seriously dont think the prices are related to their paycheck as much as its related to the cost of putting on an enormous show for a sustained period of time (in this economy). I have less of an issue with the ticket prices than with the price of a waterbottle at any given arena and i know water bottle money is not going to the lining of any band's pockets but straight into the venue.
OH YEAH TO EVEN FUCKING PLAY AT THE VENUE THEY HAVE TO PAY ANYWHERE FROM $50,000 - $150,000.
they made 88 mil from the swarm tour, which had 55 shows and was number 20 in tour revenue for a A-list act in 2022. Large scale shows can cost several million to put on per show, the original black parade tour, which had about 80 shows, lasted for 2 years and spanned multiple continents, broke even in 2008. now if we're guessing that those employed by mcr are paid a liveable wage, have insurance benefits, etc, then uh....guys it all kinda stacks up.

dont want to sound bitter but i have noticed every time mcr is active again it ushers in a wave of people suddenly having lots of opinions about them when they dont know what they're talking about and also forget about them during the periods they are not active. i guess im gatekeeping but like. what are we doing here guys how did u not know mcr is political do u have brain rot.
