do people realize that Russians from western Russia are just white Europeans and they cannot experience orientalism? all I see is these people talking about russophobia but I don't see them talking about countries Russia is actively oppressing and bombing. I don't see them talking about Georgians who Russians call "churka" (slur which means black). I don't see them talking about Russians who come here and pee on us because we're primitive (it actually happened numerous times). "not all Russians", we know. it's the same argument as "not all whites." Russians from western regions are white Europeans whether you admit it or not and the majority of them are extremely racist and actually orientalists towards West and Central Asian countries. and respectfully, I don't believe in reverse racism. "not all *X oppressive group*" WE GET IT. WE KNOW. we know there are good ones out there. but getting mad at us for "russophobia" when you NEVER spoke up about the people their country is actively oppressing is insane.

I remember when a Russian girl died in Georgia (because she was drunk and she wasn't looking where she was going, she was walking backwards), everyone started saying how Georgians are so russophobic and how our people and country are shit. how we're oppressive. how we don't know anything and how we live in 3rd world country. but Russians call us slurs, they make Georgians life hell, they go to Georgia and demand Georgians to speak Russian with them, they live in Georgia for YEARS, DECADES and don't even learn to say "hello" in Georgian, nobody speaks up. it's somehow not orientalist and racist. mind you, I'm talking about WHITE EUROPEAN RUSSIANS. I have no problem with indigenous Asian Russians. I respect them and I know their people have been through hell during Russian colonization which everyone denies for some reason. genuinely wtf is wrong with you people? "oh stop complaining about Russians you Russophobe. not all Russians are bad. good and bad is everywhere. so what if they defend colonialism and they're throwing slurs at you? not all Russians.." I've been called churka by WHITE EUROPEAN Western Russians and they're extremely orientalist and racist towards my people. reverse racism doesn't exist and not all Russians are Asian. stop treating Russians as monoliths. I think it's more russophobic than someone who's a victim of actual orientalism and racism from Russians calling them out on their racism.

ok so this girl who loves patriarchy and is anti abortion told me that queers like me need to be isolated, locked up, killed and we have no right to wear our cultural clothes bcz we "harm society". I got mad so I told her that according to her favorite societal norms, if she gives birth to a child and the child is a boy, and if he grows up into being a man who insults women and harms people, she needs to be isolated, locked up and banished from her culture because she failed her patriarchal job (raising a child correctly). and if raising children correctly isn't part of patriarchy she admits that it's patriarchy that is oppressive and harms humanity, not queers. she got very defensive and she started cursing me and calling me a fake woman. but hey, I thought women had no right to speak in patriarchal society. why do you raise your voice? be a good girl and go make food for your abusive bf since it's what you like and since you hate queers for "taking your housewife right away and girlifying your bf"

Europeans coming to Georgia and making "jokes" about Georgian women's ethnic name (Nazi, pronounced like nah - zee, z in zebra) will never be funny. especially now that our ethnic names are disappearing. our ethnic names are constantly mocked, called old-fashioned, ancient and other nasty things. you're just making people more insecure about their ethnic names. Nazi means "gentle" and it's a very pretty name but our people are starting to hate it (mainly the new generation) because European names are considered "prettier, modern, unique and better" unlike Georgian names that are considered "primitive and ugly hag names." the amount of times people get told that their parents hate them for naming them ethnic names and they'd kill themselves if they had ethnic names is very saddening and heartbreaking. I chose ethnic name for myself and people don't even know that it's a Georgian name because our ethnic names are literally disappearing.

may I add that our ethnic names are considered prettier if Europeans use them? the amount of times we've been told that our ethnic names are hard to pronounce, if our language and script are real, "how do you read them and pronounce them?" is upsetting. there are Europeans who go to reddit and other social media and ask us to give them ethnic Georgian names (or choose Georgian ethnic names for their children), and suddenly our ethnic names look and sound good on them. but if Georgians have those names we need to "kill ourselves" because it means our parents "hated us." @baghre was literally told that her ethnic name is "impossible to pronounce" and it's "weird" written in "unreadable language" but the same person then decided to use the name for themself and they blocked Baghre saying "your name doesn't belong to you. you're radical like far right conservatives. culture is meant to be shared"
