Demand Bloch ballet start including women of color

I am ashamed to say that, even though I have taken ballet lessons and watch ballet regularly, it never occurred to me that ballet slippers came in pink satin to match white skin (I just liked the baby pink aesthetic...). I went through my ballet tag and saw almost only white dancers and pink slippers. this is a petition calling for one of the biggest producers of ballet clothes- bloch- to start making black and brown coloured slippers, so that ballet dancers are not forced to spend time and money dyeing their own shoes. 🖤

It’s okay to be a beginner at the things you are interested in. There is no reason to feel intimidated by people more advanced than you are, because they too were in your place at one point. Keep learning and growing and expanding in whatever it is that you love and let nothing and no one stop you. You don’t have to be at the same stage as someone else. You can just be at your stage and that one is okay too.
