So, this is driving me insane and I need to know if anyone was aware of this fic.

I read an Itachi x Sakura back during the "golden" years of fanfiction(dot)net. My issue, obviously, is that I can't remember the name of the fic nor the author. The details I do remember are not really helping me because I can't just plug that into the search bar.

So, if you can potentially remember the name of the fic/author, I'd be forever grateful if you can tell me.

Things I can recall:

It's during Shippuden Timeline (give or take if the author aged them up more)

I believe it was BEFORE the truth about Itachi, so he was still portrayed in fics as a murderer. Same with his illness.

Sakura was a good medic by this point

Sasuke was still training with Orochimaru.

This had to have been before Ao3 was created. MAYBE. I wasn't branching out that much at the time since fanfiction(.)net had everything. So before '08

Story Premise: Sakura makes a deal with Itachi to save Sasuke from Orochimaru. In return, she heals his eyes from the strenuous use of the Sharingan.

She is basically held in a cell for the time being. Kisame and Itachi aren't really close and when Kisame torments Sakura, Itachi steps in (though not out of love or kindness).

It's sort of a slowish burn where she starts to pick up on his personality a bit more and begins to have feelings for him and vice versa.

There's a scene where she falls asleep in the bath and Itachi finds her and begins cleaning her hands. It's a somewhat tender moment, because she wakes up and doesn't really move as she watches him.

Once she does the impossible, healing his eyes, he asks her if she really wants him to honor his deal. She says yes, no matter what it takes.

He ends up going through with it and trades Sakura for Sasuke to Orochimaru.

Sakura, betrayed and poisoned, escapes Orochimaru's base and falls at Itachi's feet. She's angry at him, telling him about the poison and how the rain ruined her chance to make an antidote, so he takes her back to the village.

Sasuke is saved, sure, but he's not happy. He still wants to kill Itachi and Sakura isn't so sure if she can allow that.

Sakura ends up finding Itachi and they share a moment. [unfortunately this is where my memory gets fuzzy]

I remember Sasuke finally confronts Itachi but Sakura steps in.

As for how it ended, I can't really recall anymore.

It felt like a mature version of the pairing and it was a really nice fic. I don't think it was a smut fic either. Fanfiction(.)net usually has their ratings as K-->T and Mature as its own category. But, I think it was rated T.

If you guys have any idea if you might have read it or know where I can find it, that'd be awesome.

Madasaku modern au, where Madara is a successful businessman who has always been seen dating young models. The Uchihas are a tradition family and his lack of enthusiasm for relationship and marriage starts to become a problem, but the man makes it clear that he will never settle down and passes that responsibility to Izuna.

Until he is involved in an accident and is saved by the doctor Haruno Sakura. From the moment he lays eyes on her he decides he wants her no matter what. But Sakura has too much responsibility in her hand and Madara is a well known playboy, being older than him and being a single mother makes her think he just wants a fling and dismisses him without a second thought.

But Madara doesn't take "no" for an answer and makes it his mission to win her over. It starts as a game, but slowly he falls in love with her. It includes a lot of fluff, many domestic dates, Madara learning to be a father to Sakura's child, Sakura putting her insecurities aside about being older than him.

Imagine everyone's shock when the party boy Madara Uchiha is photographed by paparazzi on a private beach with an unknown woman and child playing in the sand, all smiles and giggles.

I'm writing a weird, explicit madasaku fic that started out as a big oneshot, but then the vibes carried me away. sakura becomes a mother of slugs, living alone in the woods. which are kind of alive. madara is too tired to judge.

somehow my most niche works end up having the writing I'm most proud of so here's to hoping it reaches some people who don't mind their romance fic accented by a lil...ummmmm... strangeness lmao. it's spooky season anyway that's my excuse 😭
