The Amazing Digital Circus: Velvet Riot au (what is it about?)
This indie punk/pop AU takes place after Pomni and Ragatha’s loving six-month relationship comes to an end.
After the breakup, Pomni finds herself unable to truly move on. Even though she slowly starts getting closer to Jax (who has been in love with her for a long time) but she can’t stop thinking about Ragatha. She wants to give Jax a real chance, but a part of her still hopes the feelings she has for her first love will finally fade away, so she can be happy again.
At the same time, Ragatha is fully focused on her pop star career, with the help of her manager and longtime friend, Kinger. She tried to cut Pomni out of her life after the breakup, but is quite impossible. Giving to Pomni’s growing success, their shared record label, and their constant public appearances make it difficult to forget the person she once loved.
Jax, who spent years trying to ignore their feelings for Pomni, finally decides to confess after the breakup and fans are divided: some believe Jax is a homewrecker who got between Pomni and Ragatha, while others think they’re the person helping Pomni smile again. But what Jax doesn’t realize is that they’re not trying to replace Ragatha they’re just trying to love someone who’s still learning how to let go.
Behind the scenes, things aren’t much easier.
Caine is the manager of Pomni’s band. He never wanted the job and was practically forced into it, but over time he realized he actually loves the attention, and validation that comes with managing one of the label’s biggest performers.
Kinger, on the other hand always dreamed of becoming a manager. Helping Ragatha achieve her dream of becoming a pop star is something he’s always been proud of.
Since everyone works under the same record label, the company constantly forces Pomni and Ragatha to work together. Photoshoots, interviews, award shows, collaborations, promotional videos… every project turns into an awkward reminder of everything they lost.
Gangle is Ragatha’s social media manager, trying to keep the fandom under control, while Zooble works as the makeup artist for both Ragatha and Pomni’s Band, often getting caught in the uncomfortable silence whenever Pomni and Ragatha end up in the same room.
Around them are familiar faces like Bubble, Gummigoo, Ribbit, Kaufmo, Queenie, the Sun and the Moon, and many other artists, producers, staff members, and celebrities who make the music industry feel alive!
In this world, every breakup becomes news, every song starts rumors, and every look at an ex becomes another headline.
