Finally satisfied my cravings for @namnamnoodlebar’s Wagyu beef slices. ☺️😌 The combi was ok, but the Wagyu beef slices add on is a must! Noticed 2 smaller bowls? Coz I’m not sharing mine w the bf. 😂 The soup is flavourful and not “contaminated” by the taste of rice noodles. Fuwa fuwa omu soufflé porcini rice ($17.90) at @hoshinocoffeesg. Waited suuuuuuuper long for it (my colleague was like 3/4 done with her food). If you like cream of mushroom soup, al funghi or just mushrooms in general, you may want to try this! The soufflé is light and fluffy with a crispy crust and there’s cheese in the rice too. It tastes similar to mushroom risotto. Personally, i like the mushrooms and rice but not so much for omu soufflé coz I prefer to taste the full flavour of eggs. The omu soufflé mellows the egg flavour so it tastes somewhat like a bubbly froth with a hint of egg-iness. Had DTF coz my friend craved for the 小菜 and shrimp fried rice after we realised Tamoya at Chinatown Point closed down bout 6months ago 😢. 酸辣汤 was surprisingly tasty and not spicy at all, just how I'd like it 😅. Just full of flavour and super comforting. Love their 豆苗 as usual. And of course 1 小菜 per pax LOL. My go-to supper, especially on a cold night: Cheng Mun Chee Kee Pig's Organ Soup 正文记猪杂汤大王 at Foch Road (Jalan Besar, near Lavendar MRT). They have heavenly steamed minced meat, refillable super tasty hot soup and opens till 4.30am. Bonus: near my house! Lol. My usual order: Small ZZT [$4.30] without liver, meatballs and lean meat (dry and tough) so I can focus on pork belly, stomach, tofu and salted veg with rice [$0.50] and 2 x steamed minced meat with water chestnut 马蹄蒸肉饼 [$2 each]. This barchor is just too tasty. Soft yet firm texture, savoury, served hot. So so good. Plus a cup of teh kah dai [$1.10], this $9.90 meal is the best late night comfort food for me. 😌😋 P.S. Mmmm yummy lunch w boss today: Marutoku Negi Chashu-Men (Regular $15.80++) Lunch Set (+$1) which includes a side dish and jap brown tea, add ajitsuke tamago ($1). I chose Sui Gyoza over Yaki Gyoza, salad, tori something and 1 more option. 😛 Verdict: pretty good! PERFECT ajitsuke tamago. PERFECT DONENESS and flavour. Arguably the best. Chashu was slightly tougher than expected (boss said it melted the last time he had it), broth was flavourful and i really love the mountain of negi 😍. Tip: add la yu (chilli oil) to the soup and gyoza for extra flavour. 😌 Service is pretty good imo. Dinner today: Buta-shoga ramen ($6.90), add tamago ($1), black fungus ($1) and chashu ($2) *Disclaimer: prices here may be slightly wrong as I only had a quick glance and BF ordered+paid. 😅 Verdict: I love it! BF made it out to be subpar coz cheap but I felt that this is even better than many ramen restaurants. Chashu was thin and soft with lotsa fat (helps with softness), menma/bamboo shoots were cooked well: soft and doesn't have a pungent taste, eggs were perfect, soup was tasty and really hot, noodles were cooked just right and the braised ginger pork was delicious and tender. Dinner at Big Bern's today: Grass-fed ribeye steak set ($24.90) - medium rare, with dill pasta salad and chicken gumbo (+$2) for me and BF ordered beef chilli cheese fries ($12.90) and cream of mushroom soup with garlic bread ($forgot). Steak was cooked properly and had a pretty good oniony butter but it still had alot of tendons (which I really hate). Didn't like the chicken gumbo and neutral towards the chilli cheese fries. Mushroom soup was okay, sliced onions too crunchy and too much black pepper for my liking. Cooked jap curry rice the other day, with angus beef hamburg and soft boiled egg. That hamburg was unexpectedly good - got it from @coldstoragesg. Jap curry sauce with potatoes and carrot was from @daiso_singapore, and I added hon shimeiji mushrooms, champignons and corn. Instant Jap rice was also from @daiso_singapore!
