riverdale is good because every plotline sounds like its a lie. last week cheryl's grandmother suggested they sacrifice cheryls new girlfriend who she met through an art forgery scheme because they need to save the burning maple groves and cheryls grandmother blames the fire on the blossom family curse but it was really reggie mantle who set the fire to lower the property value so he and his ex-girlfriends dad can dig for precious metals and while she runs away before they can sacrifice her cheryl's serial killer mom who just escaped from prison suggests they pray to have wind divert the flames and it WORKS. and that was just the b-plot
I got major witchy vibes when the Blossom women were praying in front of that altar for their maple trees & tbh that would have been the PERFECT moment to cross-over with Sabrina & I will literally never let this go I-

Penelope being in 5b is great news to me because Cheryl will now experience her mother's antics, schemes and toxicity with the knowledge of Toni's deep thoughts and words regarding her family and also with the insight of her adulthood. She's gonna look at her mother and wonder "is this how people have been perceiving me all these years? Is this how I act sometimes? Am I like this night hag, ruthless, toxic and cuckoo?"
She's gonna break free from this. From Thornhill. From Nana Rose and Penelope. From whatever schemes her mother has in mind. She's gonna work hand in hand with everybody to save Riverdale and snatch it from Hiram's hands. She's finally gonna become the grown woman she's supposed to be, selfless, supportive and kind but still in her very own Cheryl way. Her and Toni are going to be friendly for a while then they will fall for each other again but harder, healthier and forever. Mark my words.

You bounced your leg under the table in the booth at Pop’s, your girlfriend’s hand resting on your thigh. Every five minutes she’d eye you, furrowing her brows. You were upset or anxious, which is what usually had you fidgeting about. When you took another sip of your coffee, she got the idea.
“Let me have some?” she asked quietly, so as to not disturb the conversation that was taking place between Veronica and Archie. You nodded, sliding her the cup with a smile.
Cheryl didn’t give it back though, and you were much too high on caffeine to notice. When the time came to leave Pop’s you turned to Cheryl to prevent her from sliding out of the booth.
“Hold on a second, baby, I’m going to order a coffee to go.”
“The hell you will,” she retorted, giving you a disapproving look. You furrowed your brows in shock.
“What?” you asked.
“You’re addicted to caffeine, Y/N,” Cheryl deadpanned.
“I am not.”
“You literally can’t stop your leg from bouncing, and all you’ve done for weeks is drink coffee after coffee. That stops now.”
“Babe,” you pouted, knowing it was over when she crossed her arms and rose a brow. You let out a huff and left the booth, holding out your hand to help her.
“I’ll make you some tea when we get home,” Cheryl said with a smile, squeezing your hand and leading you towards the door. You bid goodbye to Archie and Veronica, before climbing into Cheryl’s convertible.
“Babe?” Cheryl asked quietly. You hummed, turning to look at her.
“Why have you felt the need to drink so much coffee lately? Have you had more work to do?”
You sighed. “I like doing so much,” you answered. “When I’m awake all the time, I can spend time with you, and other friends, and work on my school, and soccer and debate and everything else. I can achieve anything.”
“But you aren’t resting. All the caffeine isn’t good for you.”
You knew she was right. You didn’t even need to listen to her to know those things. But at this point it felt like you couldn’t stop, something that Cheryl could help with.
“Cheryl, you’re right. I know you’re right. I just... it seems like I can’t stop. I need help with it.”
“I will help you, mon trésor,” she cooed.

And she did. Your loving girlfriend was more helpful than you thought. First it was caffeinated tea, with some coffee. And she slowly let you have less and less, and you did okay. She filled it with healthier options, ones that had less caffeine, but rather, natural energy boosting preservatives.
A few days in, the exhaustion caught up to you. With less caffeine and having worked so hard for a few weeks, your body simply couldn’t take it anymore.
“My love, maybe it should be time for bed,” Cheryl murmured, laying back on the sofa with you in her arms. You were half asleep, attempting to keep your eyes open for the TV show that played on the screen in front of you.
“No, I’m up.”
“But you need sleep,” she replied, already pushing your body up and into a seated position. You sighed, yawning, and climbed out from under the blankets. You helped Cheryl up after you, letting her gently push you towards her bedroom with her hand on your back.
After washing up, you collapsed onto the satin sheets, pulling the velvet red rose comforter up around you. The textures were heavenly in your exhausted state, and your eyes closed within a minute of laying down. Five minutes later the bed sunk next to you, your girlfriend joining you. Cheryl looked over with a smile; though she was concerned, it seemed you were finally getting the sleep you needed.
