Mark looked at the case as he accepted it. “You know bro you are making me look bad.” He laughed as he held up the case. “Cheryl is always telling me about the way you spoil Amber with little gifts and stuff. She wants to know when I’m going to start doing it for her.” He shook his head, “We’ve been together this long and she still expects me to morph into a more handsome, sexier version of you.” He laughed as he dodged Derek’s attempt to punch him. “I’ll be right back bro.” He opened the door to see Cheryl about to knock, “Hey gorgeous,” He kissed her cheek, “I see you’re on gift duty too.” He held up the box from Derek to Amber. “I’ll see you in a little while, you look beautiful babe.” He walked off whistling.

Cheryl, laughed, “Yes I’m on duty too.” She held up the velvet box. “Hurry up we don’t have long hun,” She patted his cheek, “See you soon” Entering the room she looked at Derek, he looked calm and happy, not a nerve showing.  “Amber sent you your wedding gift D.” She handed him the box, “I have to get back and help with the last minute details…congratulations again D…I’m so happy for the both of you.” She gave him a quick hug and walked out.

"Where’s my shoes? Why is Alyssa crying? Someone hand me my baby?" Amber was running around her dressing room like a chicken with her head cut off. It was an hour before she was to be married and she was not even close to being ready. Her hair and makeup were done, but she wanted to wait until the last minute to put on her dress. She was so nervous, not about marrying Derek, that was the one thing she was sure of, but with her and Derek planning the entire wedding themselves, she hoped everything would come off without a hitch. Dianna brought Alyssa over and Amber held her and rocked her, “Aww…come on baby girl, mommy and daddy are getting married today and I need you to be good for mommy. Can you do that please?” She saw Alyssa going for her breasts and she laughed, “So I guess someone’s hungry. Well it’s better now than when I’m standing at the altar.” She began to feed Alyssa, and quietly singing to her. Once she was fed and burped, Alyssa quickly fell off to sleep. “Now I think I am ready to finish getting dressed.” She turned to see Cheryl standing there, “Hey Cheryl, can you do me a favor? I have this gift for Derek, can you take it to him?”

 “Sure, I’ll take it to him.” Cheryl squeezed Amber’s hand. “I’m so happy that you and D are getting married. I knew the first time I saw you two together that you were a perfect match for each other.” She turned and looked at Alyssa, “that’s the proof, that your love is perfect, my little niece is an angel.” She sniffed, “let me go before I start crying and ruin my make-up. I’ll be right back.”

Amber: smiled, "Aww...thanks Mark, I know I have a long way to go, but I still need to try to look fabulous." She laughed at Cheryl's excitement, "It's okay Mark, I understand, she excited to see Alyssa. Thanks Cheryl, she is beautiful." Amber went and sat next to Derek and leaned over to whisper in his ear, "My crazy ass friends huh?" She sat up and scrunched her brow at Cheryl, "Uh...let's get her used to being here with us before we ship her away, but maybe one night you can come here and spend the night with her if you want.

Derek: flipped Mark off, "you're so fu-freaking funny dude." He held Alyssa up looking in her eyes, "don't ever listen to that man. He's nothing but a grumpy old fart." He laughed as Alyssa cooed, before he could say more Cheryl had snatched her from him. "Hey Cher, nice to see you too." He slouched down on the couch, watching Cheryl play with his daughter. He growled at Amber, "they made a damn lie out of me, I should have known they would be the first." Looking at Mark he grinned, "so when can we expect a playmate for Lyssa?" He grin was cut off when Cheryl asked when could they keep Alyssa. "We just got her, let us keep her for a little while before you borrow her and Mark breaks her. You know it takes at least nine months to get a replacement!"

Mark: laughed at Derek, "Uh oh, I see Amber got you trying to stop cursing..." he turned to Amber, "good luck with that, if you pull that off, you would have done something his own mother couldn't do." He leaned over to Alyssa when Cheryl grabbed her, "Oh don't listen to your daddy, you definitely want to listen to your uncle Mark, because I will tell you things your mommy and daddy won't tell you." He looked at Cheryl and shook his head, "You are really trying to take their newborn baby? You are really feeling the fever...maybe we should go home and practice making some babies of our own, so you won't try to take our friends baby."

Cheryl: tickled Alyssa's chubby cheeks, "she just so adorable. but I understand, she's still too young but as soon as she gets older I get first dibs on keeping her overnight." She elbowed Mark, "I'm not trying to take her...just give them some alone time." She sat up, "really? We can start our family now?" She kissed Alyssa, I knew he wouldn't be able to resist once he saw you." She held her out to Mark, "Here's your Uncle Mark, he's kind of crazy but you're going to love him."

Amber: shook her head, "We have to do this, so we won't have people popping up here unexpected to see her. I don't want to have to deal with that." She laughed, "I know you didn't tell our baby to poop if people gets on her nerves...you are hopeless." She heard the bell ring, "I'll go get it, bring Alyssa down to greet her public." She made her way downstairs, she smiled when she saw Mark and Cheryl standing there, "Hey guys, come on in." She shook her head, "Derek is bringing her down, have a seat."

Derek: "Mainly your crazy ass friends," he mumbled under his breath. "My friends know to stay the hell at home." Giving his best innocent face he grinned, "The smell will clear the room in under ten minutes. All I have to do is push her stomach and instant room clear." He tickled Alyssa, making her coo. "Let's go see who's here Lyssa. Remember what I told you. I'll give you the signal." Waking downstairs he saw Mark and Cheryl, "well damn, they just made me out a lie!" he rolled his eys. "Show time babygirl"

Mark: "Of course you would think it's adorable, I know you will want to do the same thing when we have kids." He shook his head and smiled as Amber opened the door, "Hey Ambs, look at you, you look amazing, not like you even had a baby not too long ago." He laughed, "Damn Cheryl, you could at least act like you came to see Amber too. Forgive her, she has baby fever." He saw Derek bringing down Alyssa, "Damn man, you look like a real dad!" He joked.

Cheryl: "Ambs knows I love her but I need to bond with my niece before you and D corrupt her." Pushing Mark aside she hurried to Derek and Alyssa, "Oh my God...she's beautiful Derek! She looks just like Amber...oh and you too!" Taking the baby from Derek she sat down, bouncing her gently on her knees. "Mark...look at her...she's gorgeous! I can't wait to go shopping with you sweetie." She looked up at Derek and Amber, "When can we keep her overnight?"

Amber: narrowed her gaze on Derek as he whispered in Alyssa's ear, "What are you telling our baby girl to do Mr. Hough? I know it's something no good." She shook her head and laughed, "Yes we have to have these people over, or we would never get any rest from the phone ringing asking when can they see the baby. I can't deal with that too much longer." She kissed him back, "By the way, you are looking pretty hot yourself."

Derek: lifted a brow, "I don't know what you're talking about baby." He lifted Alyssa up, kissing her cheeks. "I don't know why we have to have a meet and greet for her, she's not some damn doll on display!" He really wasn't in the mood to see people disrupt Alyssa's schedule. Sighing he lay her back down on the bed, "thanks babe, got to keep up with you two." Getting a burp towel he cleaned her mouth as she spit up a little. "do that, but make sure it comes out the other end." He turned to Amber grinning, "what?"

Mark: walked up to the door with Cheryl, "We finally get to see the baby...and in such the fashion of a meet and greet. Only Amber and Derek's baby would have a party to introduce her to the world." He rolled his eyes and rang the doorbell.

Cheryl: "I think it's adorable after all her mom is a diva and her dad is a world class dancer" She tickled his side, "besides you can't wait to see her so you can hold her. Stop acting all snobbish." Clapping as the door opened she hugged Amber, "where's my niece?" She rubbed her hands together.

Amber: was shocked that Mark would even go there, "First of all Mark, Sprout is not the reason I agreed to marry Derek, I agreed to marry him because I love him, so you can get that out of your mind." She leaned over and kissed Derek sweetly on the lips. "Tell him Cheryl, we are making honest men out of them, not the other way around." She laughed at Derek, "Well I thought you helped him pick it out, since yes Mark, you are a little bit clueless when it comes to gifts, but since you picked it out yourself, I might have a little bit of faith in you and your jewelry picking skills."

Derek: smirked as he flipped Mark off. "I'm damn lucky and I'm not too proud to admit it. Baby or no baby I was determined to marry this woman. Sprout's just the icing on the cake." He kissed Amber, rubbing her stomach, "Pay no attention to your uncle Mark, he's an ass. I can't wait until you piss all over him when he changing your diaper." Looking at Mark he laughed, "She's got you there dude, this is the first gift that you've picked that didn't get you slapped."

Mark: looked at them and shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know why you guys are shocked I went there, he called me an ass." He smiled, "But I am happy, I knew for a long time I was going to marry this woman, but I had to make sure the time was right, and finally everything fell into place with us." He kissed her hand, "I have to agree, I was nervous about the ring, my gift giving skills have not been stellar, but I finally got it right, and at the right time."

Cheryl: "Sweetie, you are an ass. But i love you anyway." Cheryl blushed as he kissed her hand. "He's right....anything earlier and I don't think it would have been right for us. We're both in the right place with our careers and things just meshed." She shrugged. Looking at her ring she smiled, "Yeah babe, you finally got it right." She kissed him softly, ruffling his hair.

Amber: greeted Mark and Cheryl, "Well we weren't trying to hide away from the world, we were just trying to relax and not do too much before Sprout get here." She looked between the two of them, "You guys are up to something, what is it?" Her mouth flew open when Cheryl flashed her ring and announced they were getting married, "OH MY GOD! You guys are getting married! That's amazing! Congratulations guys!" She grabbed Cheryl's hand and looked at the ring, "Damn Mark, you went all out for this....you did good," She looked over at Derek, "Did you help him with this?"

Derek: rolled his eyes, he was trying to hide and he wasn't about to lie about it. "I was trying to hide away with my woman. But some people can't catch a damn clue." He grinned to let them know he wasn't really mad...this time. When Cheryl flashed her ring he jumped up to hug Cheryl, "Cher, that's fantastic! But are you sure you want to marry that jackass? You're too good for him." He grabbed Mark hugging him, "Damn dude, this is the best news! Congratulations!" He laughed at Amber's question. "No babe, I didn't help, hell l didn't even know..." He glared at Mark, "You ass..."

Mark: chuckled at how Derek was acting, "Oh I caught the clue, I just din't care. You know I don't follow directions too well." He shrugged his shoulders. He smiled as Cheryl announced they were getting married, "Yup I am finally making an honest woman out of her." He scrunched his eyebrow at Derek, "Are you serious D? How you go talk about me not being good enough when you got hella lucky with Amber, but at least I didn't have to knock up my woman to get her to say yes to me." He laughed, "Nah I'm kidding about the knocking up part, but you are still one lucky bastard she agreed to marry your ass." He looked at Amber, "I didn't need help, I am capable of picking out a engagement ring."

Cheryl: "Yeah D, I'm going to marry him! Thanks Amber, I'm so happy I think I cried for like an hour after he asked me!" She laughed at Derek and Mark talking trash. "An honest woman of me? Please I'm making an honest man of you." She slapped him on the shoulder. She gasped, "Oh Mark you did not go there!" She started to laugh at Derek's expression.
