Sailor Moon Collection
With the Sailor Moon 20th Anniversary Merchandise flooding into the market once again, I was excited to finally start my Sailor Moon collection. I have always been a Sailor Moon since I was 7. Back then I had no means of purchasing the 90's Sailor Moon merchandise nor was I aware of the vast variety of merchandises. My collection started last year when I saw the Sailor Moon Miracle Powder. The extremely popular makeup with sold out the moment it hit preorder! I was a couple of days too late to find out about the release and missed it. I have since then been determined to keep track of all Sailor Moon products so that the same thing won't happen again.
Although I try my best to keep up with all Sailor Moon releases, I haven't been able to obtain the very popular items. Before I know it, the Sailor Moon merchandise have grew so large that it was no possible for me to purchase everything. Even though I'm lucky enough to have a full time job just as the new wave of Sailor Moon merchandise was kicking in, due to my circumstances I cannot afford every item. Being selective about my purchases is hard! There are just so many cool products out there!
One thing that I hate most about collecting Sailor Moon merchandise and Japanese merchandise in general is that I don't live in Japan or have any Japanese friends to help me buy exclusive Sailor Moon items! There are quite a number of items that are unavailable for purchase on regular online stores and are exclusive for shipping within Japan. The transformation and disguise pens are one example of such case and to top it off Premium Bandai set an order limit of 5 order per address. This means that proxy services can only order a limit of 5. I have never been able to order such item via a proxy service, the limit of 5 is always used up long before I try to order. I envy all the Japanese Sailor Moon fans who can purchase everything very easily! >_< Banprestos (capsule goods), special lottery items and the sorts just make collecting Sailor Moon that much harder for me. In most cases, I end up having to buy off ebay that is generally double, or triple the original price!!! As I don't have that much available funds for Sailor Moon, this has made me rather upset. If only the goods are readily available for people outside Japan... What saddens me even more is when the goods arrive with defects... T_T
I now have most Sailor Moon figurines by Bandai and the transformation items. I am trying to build my Sailor Moon collection slowly, I have recently preordered Sailor Moon Ichiban kuji 1st Prize on ebay:
