I’m so sorry! But

I’m gonna have to put this blog on semi-permanent hiatus.  The rest of my blogs…? I think all of them but Hannibal are going to be deleted.  Hannibal will also be put on semi-permanent hiatus.

You know how you get when you start to enter a new fandom and you get really obsessed with it for a month or so, then chill out and go back to your tried and true fandoms? Yeah, I’m there right now with TF2. Been playing it almost everyday.  My girlfriend plays it, so it also gives us quality time together because she lives so far away…

I may do replies and such, but I might not start any new threads.  I might drop threads (but never without consulting you first) and I may just not be on until July. I dunno.  We’ll see what happens.  But I love all of you and I really miss rping with you guys, but I’m just not feeling it….

That's fine! Okay, well, I have a little bit of a story to lead up to it. Yesterday, I went to a theme park with some other people who graduated with me. It was fun, I guess, and I won a stuffed dog. Right before we left, on our way out, I left my group to go use the bathroom. I'm generally not okay with being touched at all, and these two girls came running up and basically backed me up against a wall. After a few moments of huge discomfort, they ran away and yelled "Just like Will Graham(Cont)

! I told you!" And it was. It was uncomfortable. I've been told that I look like Hugh Dancy before, but it was just. Very awkward and removed the confidence that I had built that day. I really wanted to watch Hannibal but now I'm not sure if I do. Should I watch it, still?

Okay, so what happened to you was one instance of people being very, very extremely rude and not respecting your personal boundaries because you happen to look like Hugh Dancy and seemed awkward.  Not even though, I wouldn't want to be touched by two girls I don't know at all either, so it was mostly because you happen to resemble an actor. What they did was very insensitive and not typical of any sane fan of any show.  I hear horror stories like these happening all the time, but you also have to remember for every one of "those types", there's probably three people who just quietly enjoy the show and can be fully involved with the fandom without bothering anybody.

Completely unbaised, I say you should watch the show if you still want to.  Those girls clearly missed the fact that Will Graham has social anxiety and is falling apart at the seams because of his issues.  Making social anxiety out to be a cute personality trait is not cool.  

I am so sorry that you had to experience that and I hope you are never put in that situation again.  But, while it certainly isn't up to me whether or not you watch the show, I say you should give it a try.  Don't let two horrendously rude girls keep you from trying something new that you might really enjoy!  If it makes you uncomfortable, or you find you don't enjoy the show for any reason whatsoever-be it related to this incident or not- just stop watching!  It's better to try it and dislike the show than to never watch it and miss out on something you could really really enjoy.

I'm sorry those girls caused you to lose confidence.  Congrats on winning that dog!! I'm sure you must be proud of that, at least! And try to focus on the fun day you had with the people you hung out with!
