Hey! It has been awhile, but here ya go!!
Mari and I were laughing about neti pots and discovered this neti pot world championships video. We decided to make it better.
“I have a fat ass.”
Words from Mari
Now, this is not only a title that relates to my inner thoughts, but also is a line from one of my favorite movies from high school. The movie I am referencing is the groundbreaking comedy “Sorority Boys.” When I say groundbreaking, I mean, not really.
This movie helped my friend Katie and I navigate through the emotionally fueled landscape of high school. We would quote lines to each other and any time we were having a bad day, we would put in the VHS (or DVD? I really do not remember, so long ago) and we would watch, mouthing the lines as we did.
I remember having some of the best times just sitting and watching, so I decided last night to re-watch the movie.
Shit.
That was my thought after trying to watch. I desperately tried to get into that naive, anger filled state of high school, but alas it was gone. My reality of the film was shattered. This movie was bad. Really bad. This movie played the line of sexism by saying that it was breaking those stereotypes, but only reinforcing those gender stereotypes in movies. DAMNIT. I so wanted to enjoy this movie.
After making it through the first thirty minutes, I shut off the television and stormed out of the living room. My boyfriend sat on the couch, not surprised by my outburst, (I’m trying to quit smoking too, so I’ve been yelling a lot). I came back to the living room after I had calmed down and told him that I never wanted to watch that movie ever again. He happily agreed.
I want to try and go back and re-watch the many films I loved when I was growing up, but I think I might wait until after I’ve completely quit smoking. I do not want to throw anything at the television.
What movies have you recently gone back to watch and have wanted to punch the nearest person next to you for how crappy the movie is? Let me know.
THANKS!!

Oh whaaaat? Second Chicka Flickas podcast already?! You know we don't take holiday breaks at our podcast sweatshop y'all. In this week's 'cast, we talk about Mari Kenney's make-pretend friend that turned out to be real, and our strange religious experiences (and I don't mean in the traditional sense). It's A Wonderful Life is a wonderful lie, and why can't fans just be cool. Pun intended. Give it a listen on the drive home this holiday season!
It's Christmas and guess what? Crash and Crank and Die Hard are three totally different movies, and Allison can't remember who Tim Allen is. Superman isn't all he's cracked up to be, and we'd rather g
Listen to our latest ‘cast just in time to still be relevant for Christmas (maybe)
Who does #2 work for??!?!
We do. That’s the answer. Tonight we recorded our second episode of Chicka Flickas What!?! “That’s amazing,” said all our one fan. I know. Calm down, it will be okay. The recording will be a podcast soon. Slow your roll, our one fan.
Tonight we tackled topics ranging from the Amish, aliens, and aardvarks. The last one is a lie, but I didn’t want to stop the consonance. We did talk about the first two, so there’s that.
SPOILERS AHEAD
In tonight’s episode we also discussed our favorite Christmas movies, and we thought it would great to get your responses. (And yes, Diehard is a Christmas Movie)
Let us know.
We love you.

Just a little happy to help you through your day. One of the greatest opening title sequences of all time.
Nice to Meet You
We are Chicka Flickas. Two women that sit around and discuss movies and any random topic that comes to mind. We both have a great deal of experience with watching films and also talking about films. Our podcast will focus on the humor, but we will tackle some real deep shit, like whitewashing in film, sexism, and other various serious topics.
The first podcast is available on SoundCloud. If you get a chance, check it out. We will have the podcast on Itunes soon.
This tumblr will also be a place where we get suggestions for our next podcast or just a place to share some love. We love you all.

Our very first episode. Take a listen. We should have our episodes on Itunes shortly.
