some notes on camp half-blood from my pjo dr. . .

𓇢𓆱 living in the hermes cabin was fun, kind of.

you get used to the constant chaos, theres always someone up to talk too even if it’s the middle of the night. keep track of your stuff. TWICE i walked in on this girl going through my bag and im still missing shirts.

𓇢𓆱 mr. d pulls that stupid “i am your father” joke on everyone.

and he will get your name wrong. my name in that reality is lyra, tell me why he calls me linda?? 😭

𓇢𓆱 the food is better than i expected.

especially the fruit. they MIGHT be putting crack in the soil or whatever. the dining pavilion works kind of like a school cafeteria. they have a lot of options, you grab what you want and sit at your cabins table. speaking of, you’re expected to sit at your cabins assigned table…. unless mr. d is in a good mood (rare). or you have a pass. luckily my friend from the apollo cabin got me one to sit with her so im not exiled to the tiny hades table. a win for me!!!

𓇢𓆱 be prepared to become a morning person if you want to shower.

i’ve seen ppl get into real fights over the showers. it is really that serious. my first night i didn’t realize how little showers there were for the number of campers. i kept checking and they were full until after curfew, which meant i got in trouble by the time i was done 🫩. i try to get up as early as possible now so i can beat everyone else and still have hot water.

𓇢𓆱 keep your cabin CLEAN and be early to training.

unless you want to be scooping pegagus shit all day and scrubbing down toilets. learn from my mistakes. they run a strict program, it is basically a military camp at the end of the day.

MY EXPERIENCE SHIFTING TO A KPOP DR WITH NO SCRIPT

for some backstory, i shifted to my kpop dr a little last night and also last week, staying for around 2 months overall. i didn't script any safety, extra skills, etc. because i wanted to see what it would be like.

#1) it's not all sunshine & rainbows: especially during promotions it's nonstop performances, fan signs, and interviews. you literally feel like your running on fumes sometimes. i would personally recommend scripting you have less work time and more breaks.

#2) racism: me and manon (i scripted her to be a member in my group) are the only black people in the group, and yes we did experience racism, i wasn't surprised at all though. it was mainly online hate, no idols treated us weird or differently which is nice. honestly fans in person were very sweet.

#3) some of the choreographers are rather very kind or very pushy: the first time i shifted to my kpop dr the choreographer was very sweet and understanding (maybe cause i scripted i was a good dancer). but this time the choreographer was low-key rude. sometimes me and the members would make mistakes and she would loose patience and make us dance over and over with no breaks.

#4) you can easily gain unhealthy habits: without noticing i started eating less and moving more due to packed schedule and non stop movement with little time to eat and i did loose weight without really wanting to. also you may unintentionally start comparing yourself to other idols or even your own members. who's prettier, who's thinner, who's better at this, who get's more attention from fans etc.

#5) idols don't flirt with each other: when i did have a script i did script that like 3 other idols had a crush on me (i have main character syndrome sorry) but this time with no script idols barely even look at you, especially in public settings. when it's more private they're more light hearted and friendly.

#6) fansigns are awkward asf: in my script, i scripted that most of my group's fan base are girls and a few boys, but without a script it was more guys than girls, and some of the guys are soooo weird. asking you to be their future wife or always asking your ideal type, things like that. also sometimes people ask really invasive questions as well. omg also when people give you props/accessories to wearrrr, like you don't want to be mean about it and not try it on, but like bro i don't want to wear cat ears like omfg.

#7) idols really do go viral for anything: once during live i was listening to sza and than a post with hella likes on tiktok was saying omg she listens to sza! like yeah? half of the population does...but since i love attention i didn't mind lmao

#8) a lot of idols are genuinely very nice people: now this may just be my dr, but alot of idols are so sweet. not even just in public but in private aswell, like a lot of the idols you guys think are rude actually aren't. now ofc they may just be fake, but since i try to see the best in people i'm gonna just say they're kind:))

#9) companies don't truly care about their idols: all they care about is keeping idols "visually appealing" and keeping their sales high. when some people are like omg the company is finally doing something! rather if they're forcing an idol to go on hiatus after being seen limping, or an idol gaining some weight after being very unhealthy, half the time it's cause people talked about it. if no one mentioned anything they wouldn't do a single thing.

#10) your not allowed to wear your natural hair: half the time when my hair is curly it's a sew in. the weave can literally be the same hair type as my natural hair but they'd still prefer me to wear a sew in. even if the memeber has straight hair, for example minji (also scripted her in my group) her hair is straight, but she has to wear extensions. the only time your really allowed to wear your natural hair is on your own time. for performances, interviews, and award shows you gotta wear extensions/sew-ins.

#11) idols are like 10x finer in person: everyone be looking tf good.

‎‎‎ ୧ POV : ur liliana at killian's welcome ceremony : ‎you'll stand at the academy's entrance to be greeted by professor irene and professor minho. they'll congratulate you on gaining admission into the school and wish you a wonderful school year. obviously, you deserve every congratulations. you worked hard. giggle with your friends about that boy who asked for your number while you were overseas in southern italy for summer vacation. you'll then be led to the auditorium with the rest of your fellow students to hear an introduction speech from headmistress b-oa regarding classes, school rules, and the purpose of the school. you listen intently. this is going to be your home for the next four years. next, you'll venture with everyone to secure your student id and class schedule for the upcoming semester. compare your schedule with your friends. at least yunjin is in your class. don't forget to give up all of your electronics to be inspected. you won't be seeing those for the next day. students will then be put into mission groups and given dorm room numbers and key cards. squeal about the fact that your cousin is in the same mission group with you. the two of you have been besties since you've been in diapers. check the time. it's already 12:45 p.m aka lunch time. sit down and nibble on some fruit and noodles. you'll come back for round two after you've conducted important business. proceed to rage-bait your long-time rival and make fun of the fact that his father's business is having issues. tell him you can't wait to see him flunk out after the first month just to watch him get mad. finish eating. you're utterly satisfied with not just the food, but also with just how childish and petty you can really be.

exit the cafeteria. it's time to go on a full tour of the school! wander with the rest of your mission group and fully take in the absolutely gorgeous campus you'll be staying in. check the time again. it's now 5:00 p.m aka time to see your new dorm. cringe a little when you see the sleeping arrangement. you've never had to share a room with three other girls before, but you'll try and think of it as some sort of fun sleepover. look around to see all of your clothes and belongings have been neatly put away and organized, courtesy of the school's janitorial team. you even see your cow jellycat plushy sitting cutely against your pillows. explore some more before heading back to the cafeteria. pig out on sushi made in killian's state-of-the-art kitchen for dinner at 7:30 p.m. look around quickly in embarrassment to make sure no one saw you almost shoot rice out of your nose from laughing too hard at keeho's stupid joke. last stop? your dorm once again. crash into your bed and immediately close your exhausted eyes. you've had a long day and totally need to recharge. after all, classes officially start monday.
