I’ve been stuck in despair all year round. I’m still in a daze, a lost child in my youth, and I have no idea, but chances are, even God has to be disappointed. This highway of dreams is all jammed up, and I have no passion. The map’s shortsighted. Twisted. I’m definitely straying, and my problems keep piling, and maybe I’m wrong, but fuck it! She’s humble. Before this very figure of humility, it seems, that in this regard, she is naught if but his rival. A honeyed heart, huh? Ah. Kakashi can see that. However, she speaks as though she’s done precious little, even as the lush fields beyond her castle bustle dreamily in summer shades. At the height of this season, her kingdom is alive -- no! His lone eye feels... Prodding. “I won’t have you regret it. It’s not every day you win a princess’ favor after all, right?”
“Still, probably shouldn’t have you risk your neck like that again. You’re not hurt are you? Maa-- It was inspiring see you out there. Didn’t catch you trembling once.”

Now, Kagome-chan. Does dear Hatake, lone wolf as he is, strike you as a man who’d not lick his own wounds? Poor thing. As loathed as is of this place, he is sitting in that bed so pitifully exhausted... Indeed, he appears a withered husk of sorts. “Well, I guess some friends I made along the way felt I’ve overstayed my welcome. Outgrown it for you, too, have I?”

he could tell kakashi was dreading for the next time he will ask him to read more of his erotic novel for him. he finds it cute he was so nervous to do so but is not like he was asking him to do it when other people were around. they were alone which made a perfect opportunity to tease and yet kakashi felt like almost dying by reading a few words from that book which made asuma chuckle, he won’t forget this at all. probably he was being too much of a sadist by torturing kakashi like this but hey, he wanted some payback from that time. “is just me. is not like i’ll make you read it when gai or kurenai are around.” he chuckle though the idea sounded nice but that would be too much. his question made asuma smile but that smile was giving bad vibes instead of good ones. “remember that time when you ditched me and made me pay for you stuff? you owe me some money.” he said while extending his hand at him. “you gonna pay up or you want me to make you read more sentence from that book? you pick your poison.” and he is not joking at all.
Ah, and so he speaks the truth at last. Kakashi hardly rises at the realization, and if it was not for the meagerest widening of his eye, one would think the copy-nin hadn't heard him at all. Payback, now, is that it? For something so... So absurdly small? How juvenile, Asuma! Have some honor! Some pride! Kakashi's recently returned from a tiring mission after the span of a grueling month, and this is what he is gifted after all his toil and service? No. Crossing his arms, their wry, cunning Hound stays cool. "Ah-- But if that was your idea of revenge, hadn't I paid you back just now? That would make us even." Typical Kakashi, avoiding the crux of the problem! Talking technicalities, is he? Sighing, his shoulders sag, and the shock of his white hair falls about his face. "So harsh today, Asuma. I just came back. They say absence makes the heart fonder, but you’ve never been particularly good at following the status quo.”

Kakashi seldom lays much stock in how he looks at any given day. He's a very go with the flow sort of man, and if it isn't a pressing matter -- sloth that he is, this perpetually lounging oaf -- he will think little of it. Unsurprisingly, then, the thought of getting out of bed to gussy up is most entirely unattractive. Now, that doesn't mean he will take to the streets looking like an outright mess, but he won't make any overreaching efforts to look better than he has to. Hitae-ate tied? Flak vest donned? All buttons buttoned and all zippers pulled? Practical and professional! Yes, this will suffice. Admittedly, he's dragged himself out of his apartment more than once with a nearly endearing case of bedhead (and, less endearingly, eyebags that screamed 'reread Icha Icha last night'), but even the village's elites have their off days, no? He's a quiet soul, and likewise, a rather quiet sort of handsome; blending into the crowd suits him quite nicely.
He hears the clink of her steel. It’s a work of beauty, he knows, just by the mere rattle of it, its song sharp and lilting as it snuggles in its sheathe. Yet, echoing, too, a derelict age, her garb paints her as some lady of the past. A bygone era, indeed, if he’s half the mind to croak it out. Samurai. Now, when was it last he’s seen one? Mesmerizing, no? Yet, surely she must concede to this: his strange and borrowed one is the only showstopper. Kakashi stirs. That pinwheeled eye is a shade of crimson too rich to echo anything beautiful, really, but people, as he knows them, are weak to their curiosities, and his sharingan is a flavor for the insatiably morbid. Ah, yes: she’s seen it often enough. And like her foes, it would appear, she has come equally ensnared! He refutes, now, harmlessly. “I think I can name a few who wouldn’t agree.”

CRIMSON EYED NUISANCE / there’s spite in her throat as she made herself known to him , her gait slow && her steps light. Hatake Kakashi was danger’s most beloved son ; even Minami had to exercise caution in his presence. Praise clung to him a second skin — even someone as disinterested as her had been forced to listen to words of admiration for Hatake over && over && over. The odds were undoubtedly against her , but she would be forced to gamble on victory regardless. He was a thorn in the Akatsuki’s side that she had been ordered to pluck , even if that thorn wielded a thousand fucking jutsu.

A ROTTEN SMILE / they were the result of two different paths. He was the end product of loyalty to the village , && she hatred of the village. Which was stronger ? They’d find out soon enough , she supposed. Minami played this game enough times to know there would be no peaceful resolution to this encounter. Their respective masters wished for them to ‘fix’ the problem , && neither of them would dare disobey those who held so tightly onto their leashes.

Mouthy punk. She dribbled little but venom along the fork of her tongue, viperous as the tales that plagued her in the dark. He must wonder: if ever his lightning bubbled that flesh off her, would there lay nothing atop those bones but a valley of scales? It'd be fitting, at the very least. This serpent. This threat. Pulling his hitae-ate up, the copy-nin's eyes opened to hunt down his foe. In the pit of that pinwheeled gaze, it looked torched like the embers in sun.
He must end her supplyline.
"It's rude to trounce around like you own the place. It's making people nervous. But brats should have a few manners, and I’m sure your ‘friends’ wouldn’t mind if I taught you a few.”
Eerily, a breeze forced the surrounding woodlands to crackle, and the scent of a storm billowed on through them with a chill. Kakashi traced the source of her voice, and forebodingly -- like that weight of a long night, perilous and cruel -- came glaring at her.
God, that crimson. “They might come running your way if you call for them now, but when a tree falls in the forest with no one around to hear--” goading, he raised a hand to the shell of his ear “--does it make a sound?” Oh, she’ll go out with a whimper!
She’s grown so wonderfully, yet he’s no interest in painting it with syrupy words. After all, it isn’t like the unfurling of a blossom when she’d found her strength, no -- but ricocheting into it, she came screaming like a bullet. It is heartache that’s made her who she is. Yes. Sheer will. Kakashi blinks, and somewhere in his throat, an agonizing groan withers to its death. Gosh. Their enemy really got him, huh? “Sakura.” Slumped against a tree, he watches the healer at her work. “Ah. I can barely recognize you.”

He’s dying. Mr. Ukki, once the highlight of his plain and drabby apartment, seems finally to have wandered into the last of his days. Ah, no longer are those leaves of his scrambling thirstily for the sun! It’s sad, remembering him as a husk... But, well, should he mourn for him? Cry and weep? Kakashi crosses his arms. The flowers nearby are asway, and he considers kohai dear. "Maa. Tenzo. We’ve known each other for a while now, mhm?” he broaches oddly.

Remember the OG Kakashi? Like, the Kakashi who was drawn in such a way that actually made him look fiercely intimidating and would rip your heart out if you so much as touched a hair on the head of any of his pupils? Make you start shaking in your boots the moment you truly realized the god damn mess you’ve gotten yourself into by taking him on? Have you fumbling to start praying to whatever God you pray to cuz, god, that’s Hatake Kakashi? Early Naruto Kakashi is just so, so good... He looks so... Good. Not only that, but he was scary in the sheer skill he had that wasn’t overpowered; just the basics: simple footwork, well executed ninjutsu and good hand sign techniques, and most importantly, GOOD sense.

True enough, despite all her morbid musings, Kakashi sat before her all in one piece -- though, if he was any semblance of ‘put together,’ than Naruto was a child both timid and meek. Offering her one of his looks -- the patented ‘innocent’ one, lone eye crinkled and soft with smile -- it seemed he very well understood it. His silliness brightened when he pointed to himself. Uncool? “That’s wounding. Maybe next time you shouldn’t build such high expectations, hm?”
