Reblog this post if you’d like to be added to Sheska’s Library—an index of FMA blogs, meant to help players make new connections and promote themselves.
So we’ve decided to finally open up this database for the fma roleplay fandom. Please reblog this post if you would like to be added to our list! Fma/Brotherhood/Cos/Milos and OC’s are all welcome!
Please reblog/like this if you’re a fullmetal alchemist (Any version) roleplay blog and you’ll be added to the roleplay directory of this blog. It’s so its easier for people to find each other and be able to follow them if they are a new blog. Please help and spread this around so we may find you all.
RIP Robin Williams. Thank you for bringing joy and happiness into so many people’s lives.
Please remember that if you suffer from depression or anxiety (or believe you suffer from either) that it’s okay to get help (and I suggest you get help) and ask for someone to talk to you and that you should never feel alone. I’m here to talk if anybody needs someone to vent to. Mental illness is a serious thing so don’t dismiss it as trivial feelings and don’t you DARE dismiss anyone’s ideas or feelings as invalid.
//OOC: Okay, so I thought this might be entertaining for some of you.
Basically, my friends asked me to dogsit for them, and I gladly agreed. The dog is a chihuahua named Soy Sauce, and he's adorable. He's also very... er, active. Of course, he never actually hurts anyone, but as someone who is actually allergic to dogs (I don't think I react unless they bite me), I was still kinda scared. Even so, after two weeks, we became good buddies.
So I knew I had to do that "I love dogs!" speech for you all, but Soy Sauce was having none of it (he hated being picked up). So I did about ten takes of me trying to get Soy Sauce to sit by my side and stop walking around. When I thought I had the perfect take, the lighting would be terrible. So, I had to do it again and again.
When I first got my cosplay on, it took Soy Sauce a bit to recognize me. He was nonstop barking and running around me. I had to take my wig off and put it back on a few times for him to realize it was just me in costume.
Once we got around to actually filming, Soy Sauce refused to sit still. He loved my Roy Mustang cosplay and would not stop turning around and nuzzling it. He was very happy, constantly jumping up to scratch or lick it.
There was one take where it was nearly perfect, but right when I said, "Trust me, they're the great servants of man!" he walked away. Yeah, that took a treat to coax him back. (I was debating using that one for the gif set, but you could barely see him in shot.)
Thing is, I also tried to do it in character, so I talked very loudly and proudly, which scared the poor guy. He'd constantly look up at me with big eyes, wondering what the heck I was doing.
Yeah, let me mention that took 2 hours to make, and my mother was getting very concerned. During takes, she'd call me and ask if I needed her assistance (I refused to tell her about this out of sheer embarrassment), meaning I had to do even MORE takes.
Finally, I got that take you all have seen, and I just gave up. Turns out it worked really well, though. If people want one, I can totally do a blooper reel, but trust me, it's mostly just me saying "Soy Sauce!" and unsuccessfully trying to get him to be a good Black Hayate.
(I was also going to do a Riza Hawkeye gifset, but after this whole fiasco, I decided against it. xD Sorry!)
So yeah, I've been busy and my Croyon stuff has all disappeared, so I'm working on that again. Just thought you guys might enjoy that a bit. Stay awesome!
Sorry I've been away for a while, college planning is keeping me busy and it's only going to get busier. I'm going to try to answer asks within the next week, and I have a special surprise coming your way on the 1st! Stay tuned. :)
4chan is now planning on replacing suicide hotline links with triggering photos, so please do not reblog any hotline posts or click on any of the links for now.
If you need the number, look it up or message me. I'm also fine with talking to anyone privately if they just want to vent or talk. If you're ever feeling suicidal, please don't hesitate to get help. Just don't get it from any post here.
Even though this is one of the shortest scenes, I think, of the entire show, it’s one of my favorites.
On the surface, you think it’s just about Bradley: that his life is truly sad because he’s had absolutely no control over it from the second he was selected to be a potential Fuhrer candidate.
But if you read more deeply into the dialogue, Bradley mainly serves as a foil to Hawkeye’s character in this scene.
Riza joined the military academy of her own volition. She has her own goals to accomplish, her own motives, and her own reasons to keep moving forwards. The position she now holds is entirely based on her own decisions and actions, and on merit.
Bradley, I’m sure, is somewhat envious of that. Because he’s really only a puppet. Father’s the one pulling all the strings. He hasn’t earned his rank or status or even his power, and he knows it. Hawkeye, in this regard, leads a life far superior to his.
But look at the way she reacts when he tells her that he was able to marry the woman of his own choosing.
She freezes — stops what she’s doing entirely.
Because no matter how pathetic or sad Bradley’s life is, he still has something that Riza doesn’t: the right to be with the person he loves.
That’s what this scene is really about. Bradley is telling her, “Pity me all you want, but I have the one thing you don’t — the one thing you want but can’t have”.
She and Roy don’t have the right to share “I love you”s at the end of the day. And he’s having fun reminding her that she can’t have him. He likes to drive the stake in her chest even deeper than it already is. (I mean, look at the way the bastard smiles in that last gif).
And honestly, he probably fucks with her feelings like this constantly once he appoints her to be his aide.
Until this 4chan thing is settled, I'm not going to be posting anything with my face in it for the next few days, and I'm encouraging you all to do the same. They're talking about photoshopping people's faces onto porn and other such idiotic things, so please don't post selfies and such.
If anyone does this to you, don't respond to them. Write down their url, get all the info that you can, and report them to the police. Write down the post url, the blog url, the photo link, and any other information you have. They can get arrested and charged with a number of things, including defamation/slander, harassment, sexual harassment, and pedophilia if you're a minor. There's no point in fighting them or being ashamed, or even being scared of trouble. Just do it, but don't alert them to the fact that you know of it. Give it all to the police without saying a word to the perpetrator and don't worry--action will be taken.
If you want to ask any questions to Roy, ask Croyon, or Roy's Crayon version. For those who have asked Croyon a question already--there's only two of you--I've been waiting for a time to do all of them at once, but only having two is kind of... well, hard. But I'll answer them within a few days so everyone gets a clue as to who/how Croyon is.
For a while, things here won't be completely tagged well because of the whole ordeal. Please stay safe and away from the search bar. Stick with what's on your dash, because I'm assuming you're not following terrible people who have intentions to harm people.
In addition, because I'm dealing with life right now and I think it's simply best if I don't post stuff for a while, the survey for THE BAD GUYS will stay up for another week. It didn't get as many responses as the first one, and I want enough to get some accurate results, so please reblog this post to get it more attention. Thank you!
Another important announcement is coming soon, so please keep your eyes open for that.
//OOC: I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING BECAUSE THIS IS THE TRUEST THING EVER. I was called "Ma'am" by a dude who wanted my picture the first time I cosplayed Mustang and I glared at him until he called me "Sir." I didn't even realize that I was being terrifying until my friend asked me if I was okay afterwards. xD
Have you taken the SAT's before? If you have, do you have any suggestions?
//OOC: Okay, sorry for answering in the dead of night, but WOWIE DO I HAVE TIPS FOR YOU.
GET A FREAKING GOOD NIGHT’S REST AND EAT. Like, you hear that all the time and most people do the whole sleeping early thing, but I never did and I paid dearly for it. Make sure you’re well rested and had at least a little snack. Being sleepy and/or hungry is super distracting.
Study some new words. …Once again, heh, something I never did. I’M A TERRIBLE PERSON, OKAY? I’m not a huge fan of practice problems or anything, but they won’t harm you, so do those if you can. But if anything, study some new words, especially descriptive words. I bet you, you’re going to go into the SATs and BAM you’re hit with the fill in the blank sentences with NO IDEA what any of the possible words mean. Perhaps that’s just because I’ve always been terrible at vocabulary (I’ve failed quite a few vocab quizzes, haha), but make sure to learn a few new words. Can’t do you any harm.
Skip questions you can’t answer almost immediately. So this is something I didn’t do until I took the SAT a second time (and my last time), but it’s a great tactic. Read the question and the answers, make sure you’re getting the right message, and if you can’t answer it right off the bat, mark it and move on. Chances are that when you come back to it, you’ll be able to understand it better and have a better chance of answering it correctly.
Depending on how they’re grading it now, don’t be afraid to leave some blanks. Yeah, there’s gonna be some things you don’t know. But guess what? In each section, there’s always about 10 questions that are actually field questions, or questions that aren’t graded. They’re actually there to see if that type of question should be used in future tests. If you really don’t know what the answer to something is, don’t panic. Most likely it’s a field question and you’ll be fine without it. However, if they tell you that you won’t get any marks off for wrong answers, fill in a random bubble and move on.
Okay, this is something I nearly didn’t do, and I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be going to college if I didn’t. So. Take it multiple times. Yes, it sucks, and I just barely did it, but I also made it into my first choice college because of it. Also, go ahead and take the SAT II tests, which test you in multiple areas. You can get credits in college for them, and they’re also really good looking on your college application (if you do well, of course).
Everyone has a different way of taking tests, so this isn’t necessarily all to helpful to everyone, but in reading comprehension, go ahead and skip long passage questions and leave them for last. I’m a decently fast reader and this wasn’t much of a problem for me, but it was my friend’s downfall the first time she took it. But when she skipped it, went onto the shorter stuff and did that first, she left less answers blank and got a much higher score.
Don’t be nervous. Contrary to popular belief, the SAT is actually not all too difficult so long as you pay attention in school. It takes basic algebra and geometry, as well as basic reading comprehension skills. Worrying is not going to get you anywhere. If you don’t get the grade you want at first, then take it again.
Bring a snack, bring a bottle of water, and use the restroom when you can. I guess this doesn’t matter as much, but for me, it was super helpful. Actually, it’s part of why they allow gum in certain testing facilities now; chewing helps stimulate the thought process. Bring some stuff to munch on and bring a bottle of water. Don’t think that you don’t need to use the restroom yet and then not go. A boy in my classroom had to run out because he nearly pissed his pants since he didn’t use the restroom during break. That took up at least a few minutes of the test, and I’m pretty sure he didn’t finish without panicking. So, don’t do that to yourself, just take a short walk and use the potty. No shame.
If you can’t get an answer, always limit your answer choices down to two choices. That way, there’s a 50% chance you’ll get it right. Use logic, use previous/next questions, use anything you know to eliminate anything that’s wrong. Remember, the process of elimination is super powerful on this type of test.
Don’t doubt yourself. Remember, statistically, your first answer is almost always the correct answer. If you doubt yourself for reasons related to “Well, it could be this,” then I suggest you trust yourself. Of course, this doesn’t apply all the time, and your reason for changing it might be completely different, but don’t doubt yourself when it comes down to it. You go in with what you have, and you’ll come out with what you get.
Have a watch with you and keep track of the time. Pace yourself. Don’t rush because that leads to mistakes, but don’t dally and get called out before you finish.
In the essay, write whatever comes to mind and then cross it out if it doesn’t fit in or sound right. Remember, you’re limited on time, and 25 minutes isn’t enough to develop much. However, they can’t penalize you for anything crossed out, so write down what you can and edit from there. Of course, keep it on topic and keep it professional. Try not to use personal pronouns (“I think…”).
And last of all, do your best. Okay, maybe I’m just tired and have run out of tips, but seriously, do your best. Don’t slack off and think that you’re so good and it’s so easy that you can just breeze through it. Concentrate with all your might and keep going. It’s tiring, but you can do it. I BELIEVE IN YOU, FRIEND (and others that also have to take it!)!!!
I hope that’s at least somewhat helpful. I know it’s stressful and stupid and actually a super corrupt system, but I’m sure you’ll do well. :) Stay awesome!
mun, im gonna be a senior next year. but, this year i went to prom alone. i dont want to do that next year, but i dont know anyone i really want to go as a date with. i want to go with a date really badly, you seem like you went with a date. how do i find someone i want to go to prom with. thx.
//OOC: Oh, for goodness’ sake, why do I always get questions like this? Do I just look like I’m always getting attention from eligible suitors? (Nothing wrong with that and I’m not mad at you, it’s just gonna take me a while to answer this. EDIT: I decided to go to sleep and answer it in the morning. xD) Trust me, Anon, I’m probably not the best person to answer this, but I’m going to, because I want you to know something important.
Short answer: You don’t have to go with a date, okay? Please don’t feel like you have to or that you’ll regret it if you don’t. However, if you really want to find a date, find someone that a) you’re comfortable with, b) has the same mutual friends as you, and c) you don’t mind making wonderful memories with. Find someone who respects you as you respect them. So how do you find someone like that? Look at your groups of friends. An answer is usually among them, because they already care about you and they’re probably people you don’t mind being around. (If you do mind being around them, do me a favor and start hanging out with other people, because you should feel as comfortable and happy as possible around friends. Sorry if that’s a bit harsh.) Sadly, that’s all I can really offer you…
Long answer:
Look, I didn’t go to prom as a Junior with my ex (well, honestly, he cancelled on me, saying it cost too much so he couldn’t go, so I decided to just not go… and then he said “Wait, I can go!” and I was pissed) so I didn’t have another chance like you do. I regret that. Because this year, I was planning to go with friends when another friend of mine asked me to prom. I said yes, but you know what? I knew that I’d regret it. (Let’s call him Jimmy for this scenario.)
Why? Not because he’s a bad guy or anything, but simply because we don’t have many mutual friends and because the mutual friends we did have weren’t people I was totally comfortable with. But I still said yes and I still went with him. I too wanted to go with a date, no matter how much I deny that in real life. I don’t know why. I just wanted a date to prom, you know?
So, prom with Jimmy and “friends” wasn’t all too bad, in fact, it was fun. But I regret going with him, because it wasn’t half as fun as it would’ve been had I gone with close friends. They had crazy pictures, fun afterparties (with VIDEO GAMES why did I miss out on that *sobs*), and in general, a lot more fun because they weren’t grinding or whatever on the dance floor. I keep saying that, I know… but as great a guy as Jimmy is, I knew I wouldn’t be all that comfortable or happy going with him. And I was right. (Poor Jimmy. Seriously, he’s great, and prom was cool. But with my anxiety and all, being around people I didn’t really know/like was super draining.)
So, moral of the story is, no matter how much you want a date, don’t go with Jimmy. That is, don’t go with someone you’re not fully comfortable with simply because you want to go with a date. You’ll regret it more than going with friends, because friends are there to have fun with you.
Like I said in the short answer, I can’t really tell you how to go about getting a date other than to give you that criteria and to look amongst your friends. Either way, make sure you’re happy and comfortable. Don’t just go with anyone, okay? Please don’t make it something you’ll look back upon and just be like, “meh.” Prom is not something you want to just do that with, I’m assuming. So make sure you’re happy.
Report back to me, Anon, once prom is over. I want to know how it went. :P
Day 30- What do you think happens to the characters after the series ended for good?
//OOC: Okay, this is going to be a really long post. You've been warned.
Winry Rockbell: As stated above, marries Ed and has two kids. She bakes her wonderful apple pie every other weekend (she doesn't want her family to become too unhealthy) and visits Elicia and Mrs. Hughes at least once every few months. She lives a really happy life and has a booming automail business now that she's known throughout Amestris. She has her own shop separate from her home and takes in apprentices who are passionate about automail.
Alphonse Elric: He goes to travel the world! He visits Julia in Milos (while the movie's not canon to the manga, I found it interesting and like to think of them meeting up again) and though she kept her promise to wait for him, they both realize that they've moved on and instead become pen pals. He visits May in Xing and researches Alkahestry. After a few years of recovering, researching, and simply growing, they start dating and eventually get married, though I don't really think they'd ever have kids. That's just my opinion. ^^; However, I think they'd be the best Aunt and Uncle and Ed is kind of jealous of how much his kids love Al and May.
Roy Mustang: He works very hard for years, and by the time he's about 45 years old, he finally becomes Fuhrer... and by that time, Amestris is a complete democracy, so he's voted in! He's still in love with Riza (you honestly have no idea how much I want them to be together) but they have both decided to keep a professional, rather than a personal, relationship. However, he does bring Riza out to dinner a lot and he goes over to her apartment to chat and relax. Though Riza is still his personal assistant, she's also assigned to be a sort of Head of Security for Fuhrer Mustang. Roy doesn't marry until he retires, and he finally settles down with Riza in a nice little home. (Don't fight me I love them) Roy's team stays loyal to him and they help him become Fuhrer in every way they can, and they help the country rebuild.
Riza Hawkeye: She becomes the Fuhrer's personal assistant (I'm not sure if the position would be changed to President?) and Head of Security, as stated above. She's still in love with Roy, but they both mutually agree not to get too involved in a relationship until after Roy retires, which is when Riza retires from that position, too. She actually is a good friend of Winry now and calls every once in a while to check up on the Elrics. Roy's kind of annoyed by this, but he lets it go.
Izumi Curtis: After much debate with Sig, they finally decide to adopt a child. It only takes a little while for them to realize what a wonderful decision it is. Ed and Al visit a lot and treat the child (a girl, by the way) as their own little sister, sending her gifts and telling her horror stories of their "mother" (Izumi) while Izumi tells them to shut up and get out. It's a fun life, though, and she regrets nothing.
Ling Yao: We're shown that he becomes Emperor of Xing, and he stays true to his promise. He takes care of all of the clans equally and calls them out on their greediness if they try to rise above the others. He especially takes care of May and appoints her to be Head Medic, and she is proud to be in a position where she can take care of others and further her Alkahestry skills.
Lan Fan: She too becomes the Head of Security for Ling, but she always makes time to talk to him and makes sure he's well fed. She becomes best friends with May and requests that Ling get a few automail engineers to come to Xing and teach the Xingese people how to create, install, and fix automail. Ling complies and this greatly improves life in Xing.
May Chang: She becomes Head Medic and becomes so good at Alkahestry that by the time Al comes, all he needs to do is go see her to learn pretty much everything he needs to know about it. They get married and May's dream comes true. Xiao Mei grows slightly bigger and is known for being around May all the time. Eventually she learns to stop biting everyone and actually serves as a sort of therapeutic animal friend for patients.
Scar: He gains a new name and becomes famous (along with Miles) for rebuilding Ishval. With his new reconstruction arm, it's not too hard to do at all, and the Ishvalans start to accept Alchemy. As a former monk, he teaches the people about the Ishvalan culture, and soon Ishval is booming with life again. People from all over learn about Ishvalan culture, and soon discrimination against them lessens and lessens to the point where Ishvalans are no longer looked upon as evil creatures, but rather as friends and fellow citizens.
The Chimeras: Though they don't ever turn back to normal, they soon realize that it's not a bad thing to be different. People start to accept them and they help around town doing hard tasks that only strong, big people can do. They reunite with their families and though things are a bit different, they're still loved and accepted by everyone.
Some of the other Military Officers: Olivier goes back to Briggs, and she actually is elected Fuhrer before Roy is. She soon steps down to go back to Briggs, realizing that Central is not for her, but she doesn't let Roy forget that she beat him out before he became Fuhrer. Alex rebuilds the family mansion (though it's still Olivier's, of course) and helps with the rebuilding of Ishval. Danny and Maria get married (because I ship them so hard) but still maintain spots in the military. Maria is actually promoted for her services during the final battle.
Hughes' family: Gracia... I don't know her job (if she had one) during the series, but I can see her becoming a teacher for Amestrian history and a friend of Roy's in his campaign to become Fuhrer. She supports Roy just as much as her husband did. Elicia becomes a beautiful young woman who often visits her friend Winry and the Elric family. I don't know what kind of job she would have, but I imagine her being at the top of her class.
Selim and Mrs. Bradley: Selim grows up to be a remarkable young man, devoid of any true evil. He likes to play jokes on others, but he's very intelligent and caring. He loves his mother very much, just as she loves him. Though Grumman checks up on him often, Selim shows no signs of Pride and soon enough, Selim enlists in the military.
There's a lot more, but I guess I'll leave it there for now.
Wow... a whole month! The challenge is done! Wooooooo! Wow... o.o It's been quite a month, hasn't it?
