He knew, but he had chosen to be by himself. He needn’t put his friends in a worried mood, after all. “Naw, it’s actually quite peaceful. You can really get the brain flow going, you know?” He sighed a little before looking to the other who had taken a seat next to him. He couldn’t help but to keep his sheepish smile, trying not to reveal so much of his inner emotions.
“You’re right. I really like it. You’re gonna have to teach me how to make some.” He continued to look at it, flipping it over as he also listened to the older lad talk. It seemed clear at first, then it all turned fuzzy as his thoughts began to go elsewhere. He couldn’t help but to reminisce on a time when him and Creep were in a similar situation like this, the Freecss child laughing at something silly Kitty had said.
The Zoldyck frowned a little before he snapped out of his thoughts, quickly turning his head. “Huh? Oh yeah it has been awhile. I’m sorry about that by the way. Yeah you could say school keeps me busy.” He stopped for a moment as the last few words processed. His head turned back around and hung. “Why?”
Promise laughed. “These days, I never like to get my brain flowing.” It was a joke, yet also was a poorly disguised dejection escaping only as a lighthearted jest. He eyed Kitty’s expression curiously, a tilted head making it too obvious what he was paying attention to, but smiled back.
He smirked, his eyebrows furrowed. “No big deal. Anything else occupying your mind, Kitty?” It couldn’t be that just school had him so out of it. Kitty was a smart kid after all!
He laughed at the reaction-- it seemed to drag Kitty right back down to earth from wherever his mind was floating off to. “The research?” he asked, even though he knew that wasn’t what the younger was inquiring about. “I’m thinking of holding a winter or a spring camp, since summer went well.” He laid back, shading his eyes with his hands. “Since I knew you went here, I thought it’d be a good opportunity to see you, if anything else!”
