her initial comment explained why he was drawn to her in an instant; she was smart and intelligent which wasnât something he was used to seeing in humans. and then her comment about her dad explained a bit more about her personality tooâshe was one to try and see the brighter side of every situation instead of spending her time complaining over things she couldnât change. it was nice, finding everything out about her slowly and through actual conversation instead of through segments of her thoughts. âi like the cold though,â he said, looking behind him put the window and at the trees covered in snow. he could see the tiniest details of every snowflake, and he smiled to himself at the beauty of it all before turning back to bella. âon the one hand, snow is absolutely beautiful,â he said, âand on the other hand, there comes a point where heat just gets way too hot. you can always put more layers on if youâre cold, but there comes a point where you canât take any more clothing off without getting shunned from typical society.â he chuckled to himself as the bell rang. âwell, nice talking to you, see you later,â he said as he ran out of class, not wanting to risk anything for a moment longer.Â
bella watched as he commented on the snow outside, part of her thinking that should could listen to him talk about something as mundane as the weather for hours and never get bored. but she definitely disagreed, the heat always won out against the cold for her. she was already sick of the snow and it had only been a few days of it sticking to the ground. she would have responded, but the rest of his sentence caught her off guard, her face burning brighter at the idea. she tried to form a word, any kind of answer to it, but instead her mind kept flashing to the literal idea of it being too hot for edward. that only caused the blush to grow. âb-bye.â she managed to force out at the last possible second, staring as he rushed out of the room.
the rest of the day past by in a blur, her mind still trying to sort through everything that had happened during biology. she still couldnât get a grasp on just who edward was, on what had been wrong the week before that made him so cold.. and how he could be so warm to her now. she felt a bit more at ease heading home, knowing that at least for today, edward didnât hate her. and she would definitely be riding that wave for as far as it would take her.
