Inktober Day 14: Overgrown

The idea came to me when I saw the prompt for today and I couldn’t resist attempting a sketch of Baz Pitch with overgrown facial hair. It’s an image that hasn’t left me since I read that bit in @rainbowrowell Wayward Son.
There are so many moments from this book that are indelibly imprinted in my mind. This is just one of them and the only one I dared attempt to put on paper.
Baz with a beard is a concept I still have to wrap my head around. Like. Baby boy is growing uppp! I love his hair in this one - and his beard, obviously ❤
I’m getting hopelessly behind on Inktober. 😬 Here’s the prompt from day 12, “dragon.” I definitely plan to turn this into a finished, colored piece after Inktober is over. I really want to see the sun coming through the webbing of Simon’s wings.

Every time I draw Simon I think I’m done, so I export the image and get it prepped to post and then I remember his EFFING MOLES.

Also, respect to Kevin Wada for not chucking the whole project when it came time to paint a zillion flowers on a goddamn suit. Like I almost did.
God, you did beautifully at drawing them! This pose? Just gorgeous. We don't even have to see their faces but the body language just tells it all! Beautiful ❤
