She felt the other’s tense shoulders soften at her grip which did please the young woman with half lidded eyes, “That’s it, just like an instinct for your fight, you also should have an instinct to know when you be approachable and not be constantly on guard.” She lifted the back of her hand to brush against the king’s cheek, “If you show that you’re relaxed, it shows that you trust someone enough to not be on edge….that make sense?”
At the touch of her hand against his cheek, Erston tensed for the briefest of seconds, having not expected the tender touch. But, slowly, he allowed himself to relax once more, knowing the touch was not intended to cause harm.
His voice was quiet as he addressed Ally, “Your words do hold truth to them, but it is not as easy as you make it to be. A man such as myself does not have the luxury of often being allowed to lower my guard. A great number people could be an enemy, be it because of my status or simply being a Rieze Maxian. Until I know they hold no ill will, how can I know I know I may truly drop my guard around them?”
