i have one more day of this semester! finals are complete and only two out of four term papers are due tomorrow and i am done! however, iâm still going to be widely unavailable to rp [or even finish the overhaul] on this blog until after christmas.
iâm still available for ooc shenanigans, whether it be poking my askbox/tumblrim, or bothering me on skype/any other offsite im client.
But man! Iâm like, having this idea, where⌠Spyroâs in this one world, and finds Moneybags - and of course, Moneybags being Moneybags, wants Spyro to pay up, saying that heâs got the key to progress forward.
But then, Moneybags gets captured by these pirate characters, and Spyro has to go chasing after them(collecting Gems as he goes). Then these pirates offer Moneybags as a ransom ; pay up, and weâll give you Moneybags AND the key(theyâve already robbed Moneybags of everything that he had previously).
that is like .... perfect though!Â
i will HAVE to read this fic when you write it out; the idea of him exploring the worlds of already one of my fave games in the series would be great to see in practice~~
what if itâs a peter pan-based world and spyroâs helping peter with something as the main goal
Getting ready for finals and term papers to be due, plus the onslaught of the Christmas season. So Iâm probably not going to be doing too many RPs or creative writings until Christmas at least is over.
In the meantime, Iâm still here and still willing to chatter! Feel free to ask for IM details if you want; it keeps me sane. Otherwise, Iâll see you guys all later.
Making that redesign ref finally. Itâs in no way complete, whatsoever, nor is it incredibly detailed in posing or any such thing outside eventual visual. It wonât be colored, but I will gladly glorify his detail when I get to that point.
Top one is without the wings attached, for visual reference to its complete body without the wings in the way.
Bottom has the wing outline; those things are huge compared to its body.
Hopefully, this will help me pave the way to drawing the actual dragons on this blog for visual refs. More progress will be shared as it is complete.

âFFFFfool!?â Kaos repeats, put off by the fact that they were referring to his name as though it was some type of species rather than it being his actual name. âThere is only ONE Kaos, boy.â He states sternly, taking a step forward.âAnd I am no sort of fool. I am an EVIL genius!â He proclaims, making sure to put emphasis on that âevilâ bit so much as to make it sound more ominousâŚ.though it seems he had only managed to make it sound silly in the process.
âYou both have awfully large mouths for such small dragonsâŚwhat is this âJacquesâ you speak of? Is it a magical place, perhaps?â Kaos asks with genuine curiosity, despite still appearing somewhat grumpy after listening to their childish confusion. Or so he assumed it was. It couldnât have been sarcasm, could it have?
At their excuse, he gives a scoff. âWell,â The Dark Portal Master clicks his tongue. âIt doesnât matter where you came from because Itâs still considered spying.â He states matter-of-factly, sounding somewhat like a child attempting to prove another wrong on the playground. Placing his hands to his hips, he rolls his shoulders in a shrug. âYou clearly sneaked up on me while I was busy. Now, Iâd like to know where it is YOU two are from.â It was more of a demand than a question. He felt it was necessary to question them before they began questioning him; he wouldnât willingly provide the answers, afterall.
A look of understanding crossed their faces at this, sharing it with one another. âOoooooh~ Itâs your name, isnât it!â Now they picked up on that.
However, his claim to be not a fool made Kosoko blink, thinking briefly before producing a small book from seemingly nowhere. He settled back on his haunches to sit up and flick through it with his front claws, his tail wrapped about him for balance. With a noise of triumph, he turned the book about; little drawings of creatures like garden gnomes, complete with the red hats and long noses, holding either a lantern in their hands or a small clock. âThose. Those are Fools.â
A pause in their banter at Kaosâ pointing out their large mouths. They knew he was being metaphoric, but why not make it literal?Â
âOh, but we can make them bigger, if it suits.â was said in unison.Â
Lips pulled back, nearly splitting their little heads in two and displaying the interlocking needle-like teeth. Pointing backwards in the top jaw, they were made more for catching and eating fish rather than anything else, but no one needed to know that who didnât know that already.
âBut, since you say youâre an evil genius, whereâs your volcano!â Zikomo wondered, bringing up a bit of the statements before. âJacques has a volcano!â
âAnd Jacques is a pretty evil genius, if you ask me. All evil geniuses need a volcano.â Kosoko added, continuing onward to sate the smaller bald oneâs obvious curiosities. âThe King of Fools, you know. Weâre lucky ours work with us instead of for him.â
More accusations of spying were thrown at them and this produced a huff from both, Kosoko returning to book to ... wherever he had taken it from in the first place and spewing a small cloud of that mist seen earlier. Just a puff; they didnât want to be stuck in a world unknown in fog theyâd made themselves. Zikomo still had yet to produce such at such frequency. Maybe his was better controlled? Or perhaps for some other reasons not devised?
âIf you want us to act like weâre spying, maybe we should.â Kosoko strode forward, nudging the discarded shovel with a claw. âSo what are you doing with this, hm?â
Zikomo followed suit, sliding around to the patch of loose dirt. âProbably burying something, if this little square has anything to say about it.â
And once more, in unison. âWhat are you burying.â
So flat-toned, youâd almost think they actually wouldnât have cared about what he was doing! Which, as it turned out, was correct. Besides; who were they going to tell? They knew very little people here. Inquiries to where they came from found them slithering back together again, staring down at Kaos as they had before.
âWe told you! From above.â Zikomo replied.
âOur fathers were inducted as instructors at the Academy, donât you know. But weâre from places far above there, even.â Kosoko tacked on, before they went back to unison.
 âVery far above.â
Creepy little creatures, in all honesty. Like twins, only not...
So Iâm overhauling this blog with a better navigation system and actual background info/character profiles. A lot of this is a redesign from an old project I was a part of that thrived on headcanons. I have some info on the project, along with some developments on the DreamWeavers and one of four profiles for the dragons on this blog; the others will follow in their own post.
No doodles just yet, sorry. I will have something soon!
This is all on the sidebar under the Maziâs Library page, so itâs always within armâs reach.
Enjoy!
DKP
The Dragon Kingdoms Project was a fan-project that was established in an attempt to not only give the canon dragons you see in-game some character of their own, but to also redesign each of the races among those of like-minds.
The goal was people would choose their favorite dragons to develop their stories and their individuality, and also come together to make their dragon breeds more different from one another than before by deciding on appropriate attributes based on ability and the climate where they lived. Eventually, there was going to be a self-published book series based on all the dragons in their designated world, but after a time, the project flickered out of existence and interest to a vast majority of the group, including the admins.
I am writing this to give some background as to why I picture DreamWeavers as I do, since the way I portray the breed visually and through ability is different from how they appear in canon. Maybe one day, Iâll be able to find a good group to restart the idea with, but until then, Iâll happily share my canon-divergence.
Some other developments that were derived as a group with the DKP that I use are:
There are female dragons in the world, and many other kingdoms that are yet unseen. Males and females in the five Kingdoms we are familiar with live in separate kingdoms to avoid feminine and masculine magic from mixing and causing trouble; the last time dragons stayed in extended company passed magic maturity, they had an influx of sentient treasure chests and someone accidentally conjured a massive flock of flying gems that dive-bombed heads and blotted out the sun. Hatchlings always start off with the male side to learn about base magic, but change to the female side to complete magic control before the separation is carried out. Both sides teach them physical coordination, as well.
There are dragons who are of opposite sex than what their magic displays. While rare, it is distinctly possible to see a male with the females and a female mingling with the males. This is more commonly seen in MagicCrafters and DreamWeavers, but has been noticed in Artisans, PeaceKeepers, and BeastMakers as well.
Dragons mate for life, even if they donât produce offspring every Year of the Dragon. Some couples do produce every turn, some donât. Itâs never frowned on who does and doesnât.
Even though they canât stay in the same space for very long, if mated pairs cross in between those twelve years, they stay with one another for at least a few days, and stay in contact after. After all, there is a limit to how long it takes for magical dissonance to occur and it doesnât always happen immediately on coming into contact.
Rather than the canon âdropping eggs in a fieldâ that was shown in Year of the Dragon [because we thought that was bogus], eggs are delivered to a place called the Incubation Cave. It is always very warm in the confines due to the magic maintained by The Nanny, an elderly albino dragoness of indeterminate breed who is blind. For being unable to see, she takes very good care of the eggs and can keep up with the subsequent unruly hatchlings after.
All dragons have companion dragonflies that accompany them in their adolescence to keep them from getting too hurt. However, as they grow older and more resilient, they cease needing their companions for that specific reason, but continue a deep friendship with them. Adult dragonflies will split ways from their dragon friends to teach new dragonflies what it is to be a companion, but every so often they will return to visit their larger friends. Itâs not uncommon to see an older dragon holding a conversation with a dragonfly.
DreamWeavers
Compared to most of the other dragon breeds, DreamWeavers are long and slender. It fits in with what they do, which is monitor and [as their name suggests] weave dreams, giving them a very surreal appeal to fit in with dreamscapes. While they are the tallest of the dragons in the Five Kingdoms, they are far from the biggest in terms of bulk.
DreamWeavers are delicate-looking and serpentine on spindly bird-like legs, giving them an ethereal appearance. While they sport a noticeable torso, they are built slight of frame and look like a snake when viewed from the top or bottom. They have long pointed skulls with subtle slopes and curves, nothing sharp or pronounced, that perches on a long slender neck. Their ears are goat-like in shape and settled beneath a pair of elegant backward-sloping horns. Their wings are large in proportion to them and gauzy in appearance with heavy pigmentation, regularly catching light behind the membranes and dispersing it to cast colored shadows when opened. In order to help with flight control, they have large crowntail fins structured like their wings on their tails which they use as rudders for easier maneuvering. From the top of their necks to their shoulders is a mane of fine hair kept trimmed and well-groomed, patches of it growing on elbows, knees, and along their bottom jaws from chin to joint.
Usually, their color palettes are dreamy and pastel or darker jewel tones. Their skin is much like snake skin, soft with subtle scaling and iridescent or shimmering when the light hits it in just the right angle. Their eyes are a variety of bright colors; green, gold, silver, blue, and purple are common.
As expected, DreamWeavers are calm and accepting in disposition and rarely take the offensive when it comes to fighting outside of dreams. They are more prone to seeking knowledge and maintaining the Dreamtime, though when in dreams, they do hunt and destroy Nightmares to keep the wretched little shapeshifters from reproducing and invading other dreams. Theyâre not known for sleeping and while young dragonets are typically energetic and playful, adult dragons are constantly fatigued, their voices drawling and slow. It is rare to find a proficient Weaver sleeping, since âthere is always someone asleep somewhere in the Kingdoms and beyondâ.
DreamWeavers do not breathe fire, like other dragon breeds in the Kingdoms. Instead, they produce water vapor and use that in numerous ways to their benefit. Whether it is to obscure themselves or their capitol is up to them, but it is never used for ill.
When Immersing in dreams to expel intruders like Nightmares, a Dreamweaver dragon can literally weave their dreamwalking self to do what needs to be done. Examples include making themselves breathe fire or making themselves larger or smaller, faster or have sharper sight in order to get the job done. When they Immerse, they have little control of their environment but transfer that ability to themselves to protect their subject. When outside looking in, they have better control of the environment, a fine-tuned and well-learned balance.
While they have a specific set of Fools in their employ [usually wrangled by the Elderâs adviser], they are on fairly rocky terms with Jacques and his kingdom far below the main capitol. What little actual conflict DreamWeavers experience comes from Jacques, though even then, his uprisings are few and far between. Otherwise, they are on fair terms with everyone, even if sometimes they come off as aloof and vain.
Lateef
Lateef is, as far as DreamWeavers go, fairly average.
He took over from the prior Elder, his teacher Hasif, at a young age when Hasif fell defending the Dragon Kingdoms from an uprising of vicious Night Terrors. Ultimately, this uprising is also where Lateef lost his sight.
Lateef still emanates that sense of ethereal beauty his breed is known for, of fair size and lithe build. For his impressive height of almost twelve feet and the near-double in length, he weighs in at barely a ton and a half. Not uncommon for DreamWeavers. His scales are iridescent mint-blue, a paler shade on his underbelly. His wings and tail fin contrast with vibrant violet-blue membranes and saturated blue hair with ivory horns and talons. A darker green-blue on his extremities [such as his nose, toes, wing fingers, and tail tip] fades inward to mix with the rest of his coloring. His eyes are bright green, but clouded due to his blindness.
As the Elder, he gives off a feeling of unnatural calmness. There is very little that gets under his skin and if anything, he helps keep the other Elders civil during meetings by being level-headed himself. He speaks with a slow fatigued drawl, flat-droning with very little fluctuation. He very rarely shows extreme emotion verbally and it is even rarer that he raises his voice or even roars. He is very curious still, understanding that though he has aged, he can still learn. Due to his patient nature, he is ideal as a teacher and instructs both young and old in those abilities and skills he knows best; dreamweaving and monitoring of dreams, with a secondary teaching of balancing one's inner self.
Although he is incredibly calm, Lateef does show subtle hatred toward Nightmares and especially Night Terrors. He quietly seethes and will forever hide such an emotion, but mentioning any are about will draw his attention to immediate adrenaline-fueled vigilance. He took a swipe across his eyes from the shapeshifting Night Terror that killed Hasif, causing him to go blind. While he is happy to have come away from such an encounter with only blindness, he is still sore about the loss of his brethren and a few others in various Kingdoms, casualties who never woke back up after the assault.
He was magically healed by a young Cosmos, but the MagicCrafter could not save the young Elderâs full sight. As such, Lateef sees auras around anything that gives off life energy; dragons, portals, fodder, plants, and animals. He can also see things written by DreamWeavers and MagicCrafters; both dragon breeds imbue their inks with their life energy and magic, enabling him to see the words on a page, but not the book itself. He cannot see buildings and other structures. He sees perfectly well when looking into dreams, however, which makes his job useful.
He prefers eye contact, though his ability to look through others has a tendency to give them the willies. If he looks above others to speak, it is because the one to whom he is speaking to projects larger than they are. Spyro, the young hero of the Five Kingdoms, is one such case as this.
Though seeming aloof given his constant fatigued state, Lateef is always proud to be on hand to handle affairs of his Kingdom and teach his young son, Zikomo, to take his place in many yearsâ time. If asked politely, he will gladly offer information or teaching and in general, enjoys the odd conversation over tea.
Kaos had seemingly been minding his own business, having just finished burying his most recent captive alive after they had refused to give him answers which, one could assume, was about the Core of Light. The villain tried to keep up with who knew what around these parts but everyone makes mistakes and he just so happened to confuse this one for someone else. Bless their innocent soul, yes. He was a bit ditzy for a bad guy which would explain why most didnât take him so seriously- that and his height, of course.
Dropping the shovel and dusting off his hands with a satisfied grin on his face, he turns to notice the two small dragons headed his way, neither of which had any sort of filters on them for what words were spilling out of their mouths. Clearly they were young ones but that really made no difference to him.
âEHâ? Wha- I am no Gnorc. I am KAOOSS!â The short man shouts out his name proudly, though thereâs an annoyed expression taking up his features, mainly due to what they had confused him for and how they were speaking to him.
âAnd I understand you just fine, UNFORTUNATELYâŚwhere did the two of you come from!? Were you spying on meeee..!?â Kaos questions, a glare darting from one dragon to the other. He wasnât in the mood for babysitting todayâ or EVER for that matter.
The expulsion they received in reply caused the both of them to back up a couple steps, ears twisted forward. The bigger one might have jumped a bit more, evident to the mist that poured if briefly from between its jaws. The stream cut off, leaving minute beads of water across the hairs under its chin.
âWell! This is good!â Zikomo replied, both in astonishment that he had been understood and at the obvious pride literally shouted at him. He turned his attention to his companion at this. âDo you know what a âKaosâ is, Kosoko? Iâve never heard of one.â
After a shake of his head again to relieve it of dew, Kosoko answered. âNo, no canât say I have.â He returned his attention back forward, toward the Kaos, golden gaze twinkling with his own low-key curiosity. âIs that a type of Fool, then?â
And in unison, as they looked at one another in mild shock before resuming eye contact. âDid you come from Jacques?â
It was quiet wonderment before inquired accusations were thrown about. Ears pinned back on both, heads turning mildly as though in annoyance. Though they lacked the full-on drawl of established DreamWeavers, they could still give it a run for its money with the presumed arrogantly soothing tones.
âWeâve not been spying on anyone.â Zikomo stated. âAnd even if we were, weâve no actual interest in what a Kaos does with its time. We only stumbled in here just now.â
âFrom above.â It was a small interjection from Kosoko, to be sure, but it was sufficient enough an answer without giving too much away.
They came out of what appeared to be nowhere. A pair of young dragons slinking about and sticking their noses probably where they didnât belong. But what does one expect when it comes to those of young and curious mindsets?
They were both around the same size; one colored like iridescent turquoise and smaller than its companion by just a little, following along side by side in a glittering purple-blue. Lithe and agile, moving like one would expect a snake to. The smaller poked its slender head around a corner, letting out an utterance of surprise, which caused its companion to stop and look over.
âWhat ... what is that?â
The odd skintone, bald head, and strange wardrobe of the considerably shorter creature theyâd stumbled on was confusing to them for various reasons. Namely that theyâd never seen another creature like it.Â
There were no footsteps or even clicking claws as they moved toward it, though they didnât necessarily sneak; walking in with heads pulled high on long slender necks, to make a regal approach. To be frank, it was more than amusing to see, what with their gangly proportions standard for young dragons, and even moreso amusing to behold when one considered that DreamWeavers were surreal even fully grown.
âYou think itâs a Fool?â the smaller asked, fully within earshot of the odd creature.
Its companion shook its head. âNo. Father would let me know if there was another type. Thereâs no clock or lantern visible. Think itâs a Gnorc?â
âBit of an ugly Gnorc...â
âGnorcs are always a little ugly.â
âFile that under âWords I Never Expected You To Sayâ.â a chuckle from the smaller one before it turned those bright peridot eyes on the object of their fascination. âDo. You. Understand. Me.â
âPlease, Zikomo. I highly doubt itâs stupid too.â A shake of the head from the darker-colored one. âOr deaf.â
It was supposed to be a scouting assignment, to put it bluntly. On hearing that Avalar had no consistent keepers of dreams, it had been Lateefâs worry that there would be a tangled mess of such across the unseen roads DreamWeavers were known to travel.Â
Thus, he had brought his son with him to âtest the watersâ, persay, before making a proper decision on who to place there and keep the threads untangled. Zikomo was meant to be the older dragonâs eyes, but he couldnât stop his own from wandering in a subdued sort of awe as they exited the portal. Simply feeling the vibrating excitement over the air between them was enough to make the blind Elder rumble a small laugh, the noise causing the younger to slow down and move closer to the other.
âDad, this place is great!â Zikomo whispered toward him before moving with a sinuous slither further off, presumably to explore a little more without going too far.
Before he had a chance to answer, Lateef picked up the sound of another voice. Commanding, but simultaneously whining. It stopped him in his tracks, caused his ears to perk forward and his head to swivel about until he spotted the other party.
The aura was simply massive, but not sharp and distinct. Just large and swirling, a seething red. Ears flattened again to his head before he slunk cautiously toward the intimidating energy, a huff and a plume of mist exiting his nostrils.
âYou have a troubling presence, young friend.â he rumbled again, though this time, it wasnât in jovial tones, but cautious ones.
Two free minimaps based off Classic Spyro worlds, and one retired map since I restarted it.
For all you Minecrafters out there, feel free to download and play to your heartsâ content!
Mountain Tranquility Shrine - Based on the aesthetic for Dragonfly Dojo, because for all the technical issues Enter the Dragonfly had, the aesthetics were gorgeous. Made with Thistleâs Wolfhound Asian pack, on an Amplified map.
Equinox Point - Based on the aesthetic for Autumn Plains, the second homeworld in Spyro 2, and my personal favorite world of all of the classics. Made with Thistleâs Wolfhound Autumn pack, also on an Amplified map.
Retired Artisan Map - I started this quite some time ago, but my skills got better and I received a better resource for mapping help. As such, I have restarted this one, and am retiring the old one to anyone who wants to continue and fix it. It was built with the default pack, so should work with the default pack and any others.
