Five to six in the afternoon used to my favorite time of the day. Now it only reminds me of once was. Yearning for my dad to come home from work, the smell of him grilling with a ciggerate in his hand. My childhood dog fetching and sprinting. The walk home from school with faces id never see after middle school. My highschool friends visiting with me at the local book store the hour before their parents started to worry. The harsh brakes of the school bus and the way the open windows barely detoured the Texas heat.
