Greekcypriot!reader who… Was brought up in a traditional Greek household. Full of love, no doubt, but strict. She wasn’t allowed to go out, go to dances, have boyfriends, live life like her friends. This, of course meant that as soon as she was old enough, she moved away to a paradise island called The Outer Banks, and didn’t look back. It also meant that she did everything she wasn’t allowed to before. In doing that, she met Rafe.
Rafe Cameron who… Met gc!reader on one of her nights out. Danced with her, flirted with her, held her hair back when she threw up, and drove her home. When he helped her to bed and held onto him and drunkenly begged him to “Stayyyyyy!” Rafe complied. She got his number the morning after, and pretended not to feel butterflies all throughout her body when he winked at her and walked out her front door.
Greekcypriot!reader who… doesn’t know what a relationship should be like, and can’t recognise her own feelings due to years of being repressed.
Greekcypriot!reader who… Never feels 100% pretty, because growing up at school she’s always been made to feel like her Greek features were ugly, never quite meeting the right beauty standards. Rafe thinks she's the most gorgeous girl he’s ever laid eyes on.
Rafe Cameron who… Slowly but surely assists gc!reader with making her feel like she’s enough, that she doesn’t need to try and be a clone of other girls, and that she doesn’t need to cave to her family’s expectations.
Greekcypriot!reader who… Has an elaborate hair routine for her curly hair that Rafe doesn’t understand, but learns for her, insisting on buying her all the good products she needs.
Greekcypriot!reader who… Never isn't wearing her nazar necklace or some sort of nazar accessory.
Rafe Cameron who… feels like he can truly be himself with gc!reader, and let her in on all the ugly in his life. She has never judged him for any of it, and especially understands his family problems. However, she refuses to take any of his toxic behaviours, and will school him for however long he needs to hear it for it to get through his head.
Greekcypriot!reader and Rafe Cameron who… find each other at important times in their lives, acting as each other's vices through uncertainty. It was tough at first, his refusal to admit he wanted anything other than a casual fling, and her inexperience, never having been in a relationship or fallen in love before. They still have their moments, but the difference is they go through them together.
