Your choice to comply with current and evolving *orders* is paving the path for an increasing oppressive future for all.

My insight tells me that no one will be allowed to return to schools, places of work, or reenter society period until a Covid-19 vaccine is fast-tracked and forced on the entire population, with no long-term testing of safety or efficacy. I believe this is likely all happening by design, including the virus itself.

I’ve been warning in my writing for 5 years about the degradation of health freedom and body sovereignty. I’ve been widely abused for my free expression. I draw hard lines against abuse. I will stop telling the truths only when I’m dead.

I choose civil disobedience over compliance, because I am not afraid of illness. I choose to leave my house daily. I choose to stand close to and hug anyone who WANTS that physical connection. These are my human necessities and my innate fundamental rights as a being of this planet.

Why are characters like Lestat de Lioncourt and Dorian Gray held up as cautionary tales about the personal cost of immortality, anyway? In both stories, it’s an explicit plot point that they were already insufferable wankers before they became immortal.

"You shouldn't have stayed."

It was the steadiest Henry's voice had been since he'd gotten sick. Robert looked at him, his once twinkling brown eyes now dull and glassy with pain. He forced a smile, chuckling, trying to swallow down a coughing fit.

"What? And leave you to take care of yourself? Don't make me laugh, Henry~" He took a few deep, painful sounding breaths, throat aching from just those few sentences. Henry could only watch as his best friend struggled to breathe, guilt devouring him. He'd gotten Robert sick. He was the reason Robert was going to die.

"You knew," He found himself whimpering. "You k-knew it was contagious, and now you're.. oh, g-god, Robert, you're-" A hand, clammy with fever, gently cupped his jaw, rubbing some of the blood away. A cough quickly replaced it, making the action useless.

"Hush now, none of that," Robert soothed, using what little strength he had to scootch closer. "This is the final stage of the illness, right? A-All this pain.. it.. it will be over soon.. okay? S-Soon.." Henry sniffled, and Robert reached up to wipe his tears away. He felt his heart hurt, a combination of the sickness tugging at his faltering pulse and the pain of seeing Henry like this. "It will be over soon.."

"You shouldn't be here," Henry croaked. Robert hushed him, brushing his messy hair out of his sickly pale face. "You should be at home, with your wife-"

"No," Robert murmured suddenly, cutting him off. He stared at him, eyes clear, and intertwined their fingers. "No. If I'm dying, I'm dying with you at my side." They stared at each other, Robert relaxing as Henry's eyes lit up with realization. He sniffed, then hiccuped, then started to sob, coughs interrupting him. Robert smiled softly at him, prompting the Scot to choke, "How? How are you smiling?"

"Because," Robert whispered, breath weakening. "I want your last memory of me to be my smile." Henry wept harder, leaning in. "Smile for me, Henry. I want to remember you happy.." Henry swallowed hard, then laughed brokenly, tears dripping down his face. Robert chuckled wetly, pulling Henry close, resting their foreheads together. They looked at each other, eyes filled with despair, longing, regret, and an odd sense of calm as they accepted their fates.

Henry Jekyll and Robert Lanyon's first and last kiss together was in a bloodstained bed with equally bloodstained lips, found with their fingers interlocked, and, if one were to get the Lodgers especially sentimental, they would tell you that the founders were buried like that as well.
