Took seven and a half years

I’m finally pregnant.

And I get told over the phone by my urgent care doctor after going in for acid reflux that won’t go away.

No anxiously buying a test at the store. No waiting the 5-7 minutes it takes to rear the test. No pink lines, no digital words.

Just words said thru my cell phone, in the middle of my office at work.

Seven and a half years and this is how it is.

I’m elated, but feel like I missed the opportunity to be part of the community.

Knowing just how small and insignificant my life is to literally every person I interact with really makes me wonder why I’m even fucking here. We all end up in the same dirt to be engulfed by the sun in the end anyway - why fucking bother. At this point I’m only alive bc I haven’t killed myself and no one else has killed me. Maybe at this point I should consider the bear a blessing to the end.
