TADC EPISODE 9 SPOILER-RELATED

I noticed that after getting rid of the blue AI, Caine walks more than he floats. I assume this is to demonstrate his growing “humanity”, but I started to wonder if the removal made floating less of an option and if the years of floating would make walking for long periods of time difficult for Caine going forward.

I discussed this with some friends who use mobility aids (particularly Bean_theBraveANIMATES on YouTube - go check her out, she’s awesome) and we decided I should draw a personalized wheelchair for the silly lil guy! I referenced real electric wheelchairs, circus-themed furniture, and Caine’s office as seen in episodes 7 and 8. I imagine he can tuck it away in a pocket dimension or whatever just like everything else in the circus when he’s not using it. It was probably conjured by the humans after seeing him stumble more than a few times in the early days after episode 9 :]

Still have quite a few to go but a lil bit ago I started drawing the Lifers as D&D characters :)

(Might also use some of these for a Life Series oneshot with some friends in the future hehe)

I have made a teensy bit of lore associated with them:

-Grian is a warlock that gets his power from the watchers. He was initially resistant to it, but ended up being very good at being a warlock and embraced it

- Big B is a changeling who has is own watcher powers

- Martyn was a bard who willingly became a warlock, thinking he could control to power of the watchers/listeners flowing through him, but he ends up losing control much easier and being borderline possessed if he taps into the power for too long.

- Etho was a well known but secretive artificer before he suddenly fell off the map. There’s lots of speculation on what happened, but the general popular consensus is he was actually really old and went senile or something and is now “washed up”. He too is under that impression to an extent, despite still being in his prime and highly skilled in both his old craft and his new life as a rogue.
