Born February 28, 1989 in Sichuan, China, Zhang Liyin is the first Chinese female artist to debut under Korean entertainment agency, SM Entertainment. She speaks both Mandarin, which is her first language, and Korean, and has released singles in both Korea and China.

Surprise! Zhang Liyin released a new single today. It's a duet with Henry Huo, called "Lonely" (伶仃). The song was recorded back in January, just prior to Henry's appearance on Singer 2018. You can listen to the full song here on YouTube.

Will liyin have one more comeback with SM before her contract ends this year ?

Hi there! Sorry for the delayed answer. Obviously we don’t check our Tumblr asks as often as we should... Liyin actually left SM Entertainment back in April. She has since signed with Jane Zhang’s management agency. If you don’t know who Jane Zhang is, we highly recommend you to Google her. She’s been incredibly successful in the past few years.

Now that she has returned home and signed with a new company, we don’t know when Liyin will make her next comeback, but we do know that she’s been working hard on some new material. Fingers crossed that we’ll hear new songs by end of the year!

Zhang Liyin posted a video of her practising a dance choreography in her latest Weibo update: "Recently, I have been most sick of the dance practice room. Wait until I've successfully got my dance on, and quietly anticipate a handsome solo! Haha!"
