Mother’s Day Card

While we’re still finishing things up over the shop (I know I said we’re launching April 28 but Mercury’s in retrograde haha so things are bound to f up lol) (and yes i kinda believe in astrology), here’s a free downloadable and ready-to-print card for our moms this coming Mother’s Day!

Just print it out on a letter sized paper—cardstock paper recommended—fold (don’t forget to cut along the crop marks), write your love letter, and give it to your mums!

Live Drawing for Jo Malone London

A few months ago, Jo Malone London opened and launched their first ever store in Manila, Philippines. I, together with another amazing artist—Abbey Sy, were commissioned to do live drawings on Jo Malone boxes during the big event. We were asked to do 10-15 minute illustrations of Philippine icons on the perfume boxes purchased. The designs we did were Nipa Hut and Vinta Boats—both perfectly representing the Philippines.

It was a big change from my usual style, but a very welcome challenge. And I had a lot of fun during the event, we were testing perfume bottles all night. Jo Malone team gave us a complimentary bottle (woohooo) and I really had a hard time choosing my scent!

Help! I’m a Shoe Addict!

Illustrations for ‘Help! I am a Shoe Addict!’ book by Stef Cabal and Carmencita Sioson. Drawings were used for cover, inside front cover, and chapter openers.

Also in the photoset are my cover studies, and some sketches to final illustrations.

Illustrating for Nine West

Last July, Nine West Philippines relaunched one of their stores and invited me to do live illustrations of their special guests during the event. 

Most of the attending guests got a personalized (framed, even!) illustration from me and Nine West. Live illustration can be veeery scary (with everyone watching your every stroke haha), but in the end, the muses loved their artworks and that is the best feeling ever.

Wandering Dolls

Kris Abrigo and I recently went to Hong Kong to shoot for a TV show called A Taste of Hong Kong. As guest artists, we were asked to come up with a piece/s of work that showed our style and summed up our experiences in Hong Kong.

Before flying to Hong Kong, as I was trying to think of how I can incorporate my fashion illustrations with the place, I was simultaneously looking at Barbie and paperdoll photos for an exhibit we were also preparing for. Then it clicked! I thought of doing cut out illustrations of ladies walking around the city then taking photos of them. It was perfect because it showed my work and at the same time showed everyone how beautiful Hong Kong is. (Although I just got to prepare 3 pieces! Hehe)

I’m gonna do more cut out fashion illustrations and this time take photos of them around Manila! (the last photo is actually in our studio) Aaand of course in our next travels too teehee. So excited!

Please also watch out for the show when it airs! It’ll be shown on TLC late July or early August. Wooot!

Soleil Ignacio x SWAP Watches

SWAP Watches recently invited me to design a limited collection for their brand and how could I say no! SWAP is a fun timepiece brand where you can mix and match different watch faces and straps so I was all for it. They gave me complete freedom to do whatever I like with my design and they instantly won best client so far in my books! Hehe.

My design is basically something just in time for summer. My inspiration for the whole collection is the phrase "sweet and tangy summer goodness". For some reason those four words were in my head the whole time I was doing my illustration!

SM Ladies Night

Illustration for SM Woman for their Ladies' Night Sale. SM came to me and asked me to draw a lady holding lots of shopping bags to illustrate the big discount from the event. They also asked me to design the logo for Ladies Night. The illustration was then translated to paperbags, posters, etc.
