          “you have a beautiful home,” manners always came first for josh and he wanted nothing more than to give his thoughts about the mansion before going any further into a conversation. “just thought you should know. you keep it really tidy as well.”

          “hey, hey, can you hear me?” josh was pressing his hand onto the other’s shoulder, hoping that the worst thing that had happened was that the stranger was on sleep mode. but sleep mode in this weather could spell danger, and he just wanted to make sure that he was alright.

     everything was over, they were suppose start rebuilding this place, suppose to start building good relationships with the humans that were still in detroit. and yet here was josh standing his ground against a group of thugs who seemed to not have anything better to do. 

     but he wasn’t doing anything. he was taking every blow that was given to him as they called him every name in the book. 

     and after a while the group got tired of it and left josh with thirium trickling down his chin. still, he was alive. 

     getting up after being assaulted once the humans were gone, josh started to make his way down the sidewalk as if nothing happened. he knew that there would still be humans who didn’t trust them, but in his mind--josh thought that not doing anything would prove that they weren’t dangerous.

     with the cd player that he had found, josh was slapping his hand onto his knee to the beat of the song that was playing through his ears. 

     not only that, but through his throat came the melody of the song in the form of hums. he wanted nothing more than to get up and dance because of it, but beings how there were others around him and him not being the best dancer out there--he thought not. 

     least not now.

     clearly josh didn’t get along well with north as much as he did with others, but he had to admit that there wasn’t anyone like her. she had the finesse, but not only that but the skills to get jobs done, and done right. 

     when she had her mind set on something nothing could stand in her way. 

     and for that there was an admiration from josh. 

     as he watched her cleaning her clothes there was silence that roamed through the both of them before josh cleared his throat. 

         “did you need help?”

          “i know that game,” he voiced as he walked up to the other. “it’s an older game, but the dad of the family i was with use to play it all the time. mario, right?” 

     it had been a while since he’s been able to play a video game, but josh thought that it was a good enough time to get some peace and enjoyment after all they’ve been through.

     holding the small sea shell necklace in his hands there was a smile etched upon josh’s face. 

          “the girls i helped take care of made this for me.” they were only six at the time of their deaths, he thought to himself as the hand gripped tighter. “it’s all i have left of them.”

“OH, did i?”  she swears internally. she’s in such a rush that she barely noticed, so she’s grateful someone else did. most people would have just KEPT it, but this man didn’t. she examines him quickly – not man, android. but human all the same, right? 

     he could tell right away the look he gave her and what it meant. however, instead of mentioning it, he gave a smile and nodded. 

          “yeah, but you’d be surprised at how many people that actually happens to, even these days.” with how many wallet’s he’s come across in the past few months alone--he’s just sad that he couldn’t find the people they belonged to since most of the city had been evacuated.
