Important Info: Canon AU DGM/Allen Walker
This is important for any and all stories I write in canonverse (including anything that might be time/dimension travel or reincarnation, so basically anything that ties back to canon DGM).
The very first story I started writing for DGM is Meet me Halfway to the End, which is canon au, based on what my ideas and headcanons have been for the origin of the war and what happened 35 years ago (and I call it canon au because I would be the first surprised to be right).
Iāve fallen in love with that canon au, and thatās why anything I write in canonverse is based on the same headcanons. Stories are still separated (unless I clearly say theyāre sequel/prequel), and most canonverse stories (especially shorter/events ones) donāt really show anything of the headcanons/au part. But they are still written with a specific set of headcanons&ideas, especially Allen.
As it is, I do plan to write three stories that are the background for any canonverse stories: aĀ āorigin of warā story, aĀ ā35 years ago eventsā story, and aĀ āAllenās life until joining the Orderā story. Again, not everything in those might even show in canonverse stories, but they would show the worldbuilding I have behind any canonverse I write (unless I clearly say a story is set within a new canon au, and of course, complete au are their own thing).
I canāt say much to not spoil Meet me Halfway to the End, but there are a few facts that I can share:
-> Allen is at least 19 years old. Heās spent roughly two years in an orphenage and then almost a year in the street before being sold to the circus. He was around 5 years old when he ended in the orphenage; but he actually doesnāt have much memories and thatās why heās not certain how long he spent there. This means he was around 8 when sold to the circus, but he did lie about his age, saying he was 6 or 7. Heāll keep that lie, so Cross doesnāt really know heās a bit older, and so his life when he joins the Order will have his age marked asĀ ā16 or 17ā³ (and so heās believed to be 17/18 by the time heās on the run).
-> Once on the run, he matures physically, so he does look a bit more young adult than late teens, basically people that donāt know him do guess heās around 19 or 20.
-> He does not recall anything before the orphenage, has only a few vagues memories of the orphenage (and one vivid memory), has a bit more memories of his time in the street (but still a bit vague), and so thatās why he might (and often does) say he doesnāt recall his time before the circus.
So yeah except Allenās age (with some explanation), the rest doesnāt usually come up, or is just hinted. But when I finally do write and post those three background story, and/or when Meet me Halfway progress, you might have a better idea~
In short: canonverse stories are separated but are all based on the same set of headcanons/ideas (which also includes how Allen and/or other people feel/think of events and people).
