“Huh?” Jack looked up from her work on her altered prosthetic leg and smiled, “Me? Yeah, I’m fine. Sorry, were you saying something? If I’m in the zone, you’ve either gotta yell or throw something at me to get my attention,” She joked, “Everything okay?”

“Yeah, I’m fine,” Christian said. “You just looked a little like your were in pain or something, maybe it’s just your concentration face.”

“Uh…” Cassia thought about not telling him. She hadn’t told anyone a whole lot about her family and especially not what she had done. But this didn’t have anything to do with the latter, “It’s my father’s birthday today,” She said finally, “It’s not a big deal really. I don’t even do anything but I was just thinking about it and what my life would be like if he was still around, if he was still in my life. It’s fine. I’m fine.”

“No you’re not,” Christian said, he took a seat next to her. Like she knew about his past, Christian vaguely knew about Cassia’s. Mostly how her Dad wasn’t exactly the greatest person, just like his. “I think about that too,” he admitted. “If I had stayed in Florida. I think it’s normal to think about that.”

“Hey,” Christian started, going over to the other who looked slightly distressed. “Are you alright?”

“How can you not like sunsets?” Nora questioned, “That’s like saying you don’t like the northern lights, or you know, anything that’s naturally beautiful.”

“Okay, sunsets and the northern lights are two completely different things. Plus, with sunsets, comes night time, which means it gets cold, and dark, and neither of those things are very pleasant.”

“Why are you asking me?” Christian asked. “I barely know what some cats look like, let along something that isn’t a cat.”
