If I’m on the board of directors for a Christian private school (Protestant evangelical, but not Apostolic), should I support a policy change requiring all girls to wear skirts and all guys long pants, even if they’re not Apostolic?

You cant force someone to wear skirts and long pants. If its not what they believe then you’re in the wrong for forcing it.

My pastor has a lot of old-fashioned beliefs about modesty, I work in my church's outreach ministry and he expects us to wear a skirt no shorter than six inches below our knees and a blouse with 3/4 sleeves. We also have to wear knee highs or hose and wear our hair up. No denim or anything "casual". Once a grandmother came in and said that I'm dressed like when she worked in the 50's. How do I talk to my pastor about this and ask if he'd let me dress a little more modern, but still modestly?

You can dress modern but still wear what your pastor says... If you’re involved in any kind of ministry at your church then it is up to you to obey what your pastor asks of you. 

Dressing modest is more then just obeying what your pastor asks, its a clear cut commitment to God that you want to do exactly what he wants of you. You don't have to look like you’re from the 50′s to dress how he asks.

Remember, you are beautiful in modest clothing, its not just about being modern and classy. Its about being covered and committed to the Lord.
