"Hah, you're getting quite the workout with all this sitting and standing." Ignis picked on the human as they trailed behind the archmage.
"Hardly, unless someone asks me to put on an improvised stage play, I can do this all day." Viridis shot back, tucking his book back into its satchel and twirling his cane a few times in a showy fashion. "Besides, I just may have to get back into the habit of doing that if we'll be staying here long. Then again, I should probably be blending in instead of standing out..."
While the two of them mulled it over, Viridis took careful note of each room and description they were fed information on as they were toured through the castle. Much as the library excited him, Viridis hung a moment on the aquarium and greenhouse, tempted to turn back and have a long look at the creatures and plant life of this world. Pragmatism, and a bit of impatience on Ignis' part kept his footsteps in line behind the Archmage till they reached the corridor dividing the kitchens from someone's room across the way. Yet more locations for him to remember, and though he planned to try his best and map out the floorplan he had seen already, it was the names he fixated on most. People were not his strong suit, but he was making a full effort to get better at making sure to make a good impression and actually remember things about specific individuals.
"Oh, that's a useful feature, thank you." He reached out and took the stone, considering where he ought to keep it for lack of pockets, before simply dropping it into the opening of his left elbow-high glove quickly. "I might need to ask you about something that can help with information that's written down, but for now there's no real reason to rush. It might be a good idea for Ignis and I to just learn whatever dialect and writing is most commonly used. Now, you wanted me to meet with someone first, this.. Ushia person?"
Zipping back into view from Viridis' other hand, Ignis rubbed his beak in thought. "Hmmm, well I wouldn't want to trouble you with extra work, so just tucking it into the kid's vest pocket would be fine."
"Right, actually, Ignis could put on a little flourish like back in our stage show days whenever he appears." Viridis added, sort of pantomiming and capering about in the manner one might for an act in front of an audience. "After all, no one said he had to be stoic and proper, just that some color coordination might be nice. But as for colors on my outfit... hmm. Simple and formal with mostly black on the vest, pants and boots is a good start. As for the rest, maybe a dark grey long sleeve undershirt, and a matching forest green tie and cummerbund could bring it together? You're the expert however, so I'll leave it up to you if you have some artistic liberties you want to add."
Pondering the last set of questions, he followed up. "I would't say magic in particular is in my skillset, but I would hazard a guess that covers any other unique abilities outside the norm. In that case, fire is more my specialty. A blessing and a curse really but it gets the job done in practical matters, and in scaring off things typically bigger than I can handle. I do have some minor influence over other factors, but not so much that I'd think you'd need to adjust for in tailoring. Fortunately, there's nothing so drastic like wings that I have but... hmm." He hesitantly reached into the upper part of his sleeve, working the leather glove off his left arm with some measure of difficulty that shouldn't have been an issue for a normal person. The reason was apparent when a dark, rough, reverse-spine covered forearm that ended in curved claws was slid out of its covering. "If you can account for something like this and its tendency to snag on stuff, that would be most helpful."
