She stretches, arms reaching for the unseen sun.
Oh. Sheâs fallen asleep in the common area again. The couch is in the very least, comfortable. A vid plays on repeat on the hologram in the center of the room and she frowns.
(her family, waving to her and telling her how proud they were. a final message from a possibly dead world.)
With a wave of her wand, the image vanishes and Lucretia rises to meet the sun, and to start coffee for her crew mates. She will however leave cooking to the twins.
She hears the door to the kitchen slide open to see Magnus, a small smile is passed his way, and while they havenât talked much, he seems interesting. âDo you think about home any?â she ventures quietly, pouring coffee enough for two.
@chroniclcr. ( sc. )
she spends so much time writing, and even using both hands, taako is amazed lucretia has enough time in the day to do anything else. even after having found the light, she doesnât rest ; while it normally doesnât bother him, on a day as beautiful as today, he canât help but feel bad about her staying on the sidelines. â hey, uh, lucy, âleans over her shoulder, watches her write. â why donâtâcha take a break, huh ? i mean, yâdonât have to write down everything, right ? youâll miss out on shit that way ! â
âI should write everything downâ she corrects, automatic, calculated, and probably more sneered than intended.. She jerks back a little and her nose scrunches up. âAh, sorry I didnât mean... wow I sounded awful--â a laugh, and she shuts her books tentatively and with an unsure smile.
(the ink of is her own design, fast drying... and erasable with the right methods)
âYes, of course I can spare a few moments Taakoâ she says finally, tucking her books away into her bag for the day.

   lup places hands on hips, raising an eyebrow. âi mean, iâm no genius like you, but iâm sure thereâs more to it than that.â she sits down next to lucretia. hands are gesturing wildly as she speaks. âyouâre always behind us, it feels. well, you are the journalistâ but i just canât help but feel youâd be better off in the front lines with us. youâve got a lot of potential, luc.â
âOh... I hate fighting thoughâ the journal-keeper admits with a shaky grin towards the woman. âIâve never cared for it, always rather read about the battle magic than actually use itâ she manages not to look too mousy, but instead faces Lup a little better.
(oh how they would tease her)
âI blew up my house as a childâ she admits, hands folding together in her lap now. âThe more destructive magic hasnât sat well with me sinceâ Lucretia says, reaching up to rub a tense knot of guilt that began to coil in her shoulders from even just mentioning it.
i canât believe lucretia is taller than magnus

empty days were almost ALWAYS spent messing around with magnus, the two of them laughing and destroying things on a whim. in lupâs opinion, it was therapeutic. being on a ship with the same 6 people for decades at a time led to boredom often. it didnât help that this reality was nearly completely lifeless. she and barry did a few studies on itâs composure before she decided to run off. science is only fun for so long.Â
she waits for magnus to leave before approaching the chronicler to chat, untying her jacket from her waist and slipping it on as she spoke. â sorry âbout that, luc. just havinâ some fun. whatâve you been doing this cycle? â
âOh, well the usual--â she replied as if it was obvious. What she was always doing. Writing... chronicling their work. It may have been fruitless, but Lucretia had to believe and hope that one day they would return home.
(or perhaps build a new one somewhere in the far beyond and out of the maw of the hunger)
âBook keeping.â she finally manages, wrapping her arms more closely around herself as she gave a glance towards the horizon.
Lucretia Will Remember That.

@flamegauntlet
Thereâs a softness to how devoid of life this planet is. It has all the makings of a perfect world even if its sterile as sterile can come.
(they did readings for days, not even microbial life was present according to Barold and the Captain)
Yet here they were â alive somehowâ on a planet that was...
Lucretia was brought back with a start as she hears Lup shoot off with a magic missile, and she drags herself up to ready herself for a fight. There stands Magnus and Lup, sharing a moment of laughter between the constant death and being brought back. If she could get grey hairs, Lucretia would have a head full already.
âYou scared me.â Lucretia admits, walking forward after Magnus rushes off to find another to surprise.
Like for a no icon starter.
Ï send for my muse to wake up from a terrible nightmare, and for yours to witness this.
you have invented a new kind of stupid / a 'damage you can never undo' kind of stupid / an 'open all the cages in the zoo' kind of stupid / 'truly, you didn't think this through?' kind of stupid.
