I'm Chron! I'm an artist / writer / gardener creature. I world bulld for my personal universe called "The Garden". It’s got dragons, cryptids, robots, and gods from the deep void. I dabble in fandom too! My interests are currently orbiting the FNAF DCA, Undertale and Mass Effect.

I don't know when I'll finish this because my computer with either of my tablets keeps skipping every other line. I'm probably gonna look at this in the future and change a lot, but im happy with how the sketch turned out!

my moon designs keep changing but I'm happy with a few of those changes, his ears and the star effect in his skin. This is Sea Shell Moon and my oc that I have to rename. This was inspired by subnautica, many of the ideas in this story were inspired by "what if these mer's just visited through the moon pool" so that's what's going on here.

I could explain all the emotions in this piece, it was originally supposed to be the two laughing together and sharing a moment but it turned out to look a lot more vulnerable and gentle. There was a lot of trust required for my oc to feel safe with these giants, but it turned out okay.

I should really study some muscle groups, perspective, lighting- so I can know how to draw "the idea" better

I would appear to have terrible luck with screen tablets these last few years. My Huion went bad. My XP pen is about a year old, but the pen has started skipping and not selecting buttons. Not sure if its the cable or the pen. I have an old screenless tablet from... 2012 apparently that is somehow alive so I can use that. but jeebus why.

Monthly challenge update: Yeah that didn't happen and I'm disappointed, but there was a lot going on. A family member had an unexpected hospital stay that lasted quite a while, scared us a bit, but everything turned out fine! and then folks wanted to get the garden started, and ever since it's been raining... So that triggered all my arthritis to flare up. :/ I'll draw when i draw i guess.

I did get into a vibe of writing this old story "The Lights from the Deep" which is another mer may dca story? It was so bad. x-x I LIKED the idea. But it went nowhere. I started bullet pointing nested possible routes the story could take though, like characters making different decisions or the turn outs of a thing going wrong, or just different, and that HELPED a lot. I highly recommend finding a software that can help you make nested bullet points and stuff or little mind mapping tools to figure out how far you can take an idea vs another path.

edit: I think I'll also add it's perfectly fine to abandon stories that are frankly just hopeless especially if it causes stress, cause it can certainly do that. I think it's fun though to start a new slate rebuilding the meaning behind a specific image I had in my brain when i made the story to begin with.

I guess that's my thought dump for the day.

Its 1:25 am I'm sorry but I am still recovering xD sitting up hurts. My plan with mer may is to do quick doodles / thumbnails. When i feel better, I can pick which ones I wanna do more with. I like this one! Sting rays are a really cool sea critter. I imagine my mer people carrying spears to hunt some fish with. I guess Moon probably wouldn't need it because of his stinger, but I thought it would give him something to do with his hands and this might look neat.

I'm out of surgery! I was so nervous, but I had a lovely team helping me. After a good nap I treated myself to a little ice cream.

Probably gonna lay down and play BOTW or FF11 and see how i feel in a bit. Still recovering and a little nauseated and in pain. Not too much though, but it will probably get a little worse over the next few days. I really wanna write but it's barely been a day. TwT;; Only problem with playing BOTW is I start having *ideas* to write new things, and then I end up not playing long. xD

Oof yeah while writing this I nearly lost my hard fought noodles, soooo not ready to be upright yet. Ugh, I feel so impatient!

Moon finds y/n floating aimlessly in the waves. They're cold- but breathing. Quick as he can he scoops them up onto his back, looking for the nearest sign of land, but his vision is diminished through the thick of the rain, and the water tosses angrily, disorientingly so around him, he could figure out where they were better below the water's surface, but he can't dive with the human on his back. Desperation rises in his gut as he searches and struggles to keep above the water, the human shivering and coughing weakly to expel the water from their lungs. Through the fog and rain a shadow in the distance loomed, and Moon paused to watch what he wondered might have been a boat, but was the cliff side of the nearby coast. His heart lightened with hope. They were closer than he thought. There are caves, some high enough that they might be able to keep dry until the storm ends, but he'll have to climb. He only hopes he can get there fast enough, and that his little human can hold on long enough...

sooooo I found an old super tiny doodle on my ipad of my mer story Sea Shell back when i started it. Might redo it sometime, but I got a bit to do. I have a few scrambly notes that i wrote by hand that i have to translate and type up. ^^;; it's barely legible. @_@ I am honestly not sure if this will be a scene i place in sea shell or if I'll displace this one to a different story because frankly I have no idea when this event is supposed to happen. I'll tag it as Sea Shell though for now.

Just because someone can't handle the fact you have a boundary does not mean you don't trust them. It means hey I don't like this for reasons i dont want to explain so please don't do that. If they take it that way that's a them problem not a you problem... it's not bad you have boundaries, but you might have to get creative to get out of a situation without pointing it out if the person is just going to make you feel bad for having a boundary to begin with...

I've had a real rough time lately, so I'm writing some self indulgent stuff to make myself feel better. We need more good things in the world, more art and writing and stories, reasons to look forward to waking up in a world that otherwise is absolutely insane.

Sat down to write a little today and finally made some progress writing some stuff. Hope i can keep it up, managed to find some inspiration for a mer may fic I started. It's got a neat premise i feel like? Originally it was just inspired by subnautica, but if there were Mer Sun and Moon. Now it's kind of an alternate earth story, but there are in fact, big fishes. u-u But this is a world with a deep history where humanity and merfolk grew up together, or warred together.

In a bit of a weird stream of consciousness I can rarely reach lately, i discovered that Sun and Moon are searching for merfolk that have been kidnapped by humans. They are traveling and learning human languages, as many words as possible, so that they can describe their missing loved ones, and the descriptions of their captors and their boats, the names of the countries they are near, and what languages humans generally speak from those areas.

They find a human researcher that is able to reach out to them and visit them, able to stay in contact and help them with their search, communicating with humans on shore that are actively looking for kidnapped merfolk and work to reconnect them with their families in the ocean.

Otherwise, while there's that plot going on, there are some silly shenanigans that occur. A little human explores the ocean, the merfolk guide them around to cool places, and they share each other's languages and descriptions of the world around them. (This story has some scenes planned in the future that are mature, but that's still like... a ways off.)

So, yeah, uh, I guess that's a thing. I should talk about my writing more, but I'm stupid.

The story was called Leviathan Subnautica AU because i am also, again, stupid, but I've decided to give it a shorter name that i think suits the entire theme of two species learning to communicate: "Sea Shell, can you hear me?".
