a poem about Art

Art is a word 

that nobody can explain 

It hides emotions 

heavier than a plain 

The chaos in our brains,

something that everybody aims

To bring into life,

cause those thoughts man,

cut deeper than a knife 

Art has no God 

and maybe that’s why our souls are so odd

and so desperate for someone to 

show us the road.

But let me tell you something:

We are alone.

Let my Art fill my soul.

“Coming out of a Dream”

My whole trip to Morocco felt surreal, through my whole journey there I felt like I was in a dream. I was constantly overwhelmed by this country’s beauty and people’s kindness. Calmness was filled in the air and I never before felt so blessed or believed that it could be felt. The sea filled me with freedom and the sand was soft as I was walking on clouds.  Sometimes I can’t believe that there are more places on the earth like this, maybe we really do come from a dream.

“Shadows, a parallel world”

The sun set behind the buildings of Athens and the sky adopted the colours of red, our shadows started disappearing and it was in that moment that the sweet feeling of melancholy as planned every day started to kick in. Like if we were loosing a part of ourselves that is following us during the day. And no human being can handle the beauty of nature, the colours and shapes that no painter can ever copy, no phantasy can ever see. 

As the curtains closed down, my body was trapped into the dark room, confronted with the play of life. It’s a circle, a play you come to see everyday, different day, different point of view, the same plot. Beauty can be found everywhere in this world, it is only when you realise that in that moment you are the only one in the world, it is only your eyes that see what they see and you are special.

Ok so in the post where you talk about not feeling like a woman, you state that you are not a homosexual, fair enough. But after some words you say that you like boys (for now). Like thats so confusing cause by these words you might be asexual, demisexual, bisexual, homosexual and so many more but you deny the homosexuality...why? Just being curious

Hello from the future haha. Well, that post was a long time ago, but, I can see that the teenage me felt much more confused about the world as right now, though we'll never completely figure out things. I still do like boys and still don't feel the need to act in the way females are expected to act but now I understand that what really bothered me was the image that women are expected to portray and not what a woman actually is. Maybe another thing I was trying to say and do still believe now is that I don't see the big difference in the two genders, the differences are picked up by society, and I wouldn't care if I was to be a man or a woman considering the fact that sexuallity does not have to do with the gender of a human.

“Listen to the Waves”

I am not a calm person. In the past few years I’ve found myself hiding stress inside me and mostly anger that usually came out wrong. For me relaxing, throwing any negativity and sound out of my head, even people, is what I really want to find in the moment. Because I need it, everyone does. 

A couple of months ago, I spontaneously decided to fly to Morocco with my cousin and friends to meet our other cousin who would travel across the country for over two months. And so we did, as we landed in Marrakech my heartbeat started going faster, I felt like a child walking into Disneyland. 

I love traveling, the fact that it makes me forget everything I’ve left behind. It was me and my friends, nobody else. My goal was to feel completely alone with no past and no future, to feel just for once that it was me in the present, away from home, away from school, away from my life. Nothing matters, just you and the place you are right now. 

In Tafedna, a long beach covered in sand dunes, no people around, the sound of the waves was loud and it was like nature played her favorite song. It was in that moment that I really felt alone, calm and relaxed. Laying in the golden sand, not knowing where to look because every part of the place was beautiful, listening to the most magical sound, I was living in the moment and my past and future were both erased. 

Sometimes life is beautiful but you need to chase it and most importantly follow the sun!

“Sun sets through my bedroom windows”

That was the last time I was seeing the sun setting through my bedroom windows in Athens. Going to feel some other sun burning to my skin through some other window now. Goodbye Athens, I’ll come back again sometime.

“Take the Sky, paint it yours”

Wow! Two posts in a row! I’m very happy that I convinced myself to start uploading on tumblr again, I love this platform. 

So this picture I took one day when I was chilling in the yard of the Architecture university in Exarchia, Athens. Looking at the view of these buildings I felt like I was somehow trapped in the nets of the city but it was also as if I was looking at a theatrical scene with me being the viewer. And, being the viewer means that you can step out of the play whenever you want. It is not right though, so I stayed until the sun sat down, observing the city sky transforming from grey to red and then dark blue. Later on with the feeling of just having been a viewer in a play I decided to change my part and be the scenographer, so I painted the sky and I painted it again and again...

“A fair Goodbye”

Oh boy. That was a crazy year. Last year I took a break. A break from school, because I finished it and a break from university because I was so confused and scared to go and so I didn’t. You can call it a gap year even though I didn’t get to do anything more exciting rather than doing nothing and being sad and scared of making any decision. I learnt a lot though. I learnt that real friends are going to stay and keep loving you no matter where you are in the world and that you can also loose them while living in the same place. Shit happens right? And we’re all so scared of facing our feelings. I also learnt that you should not be afraid of meeting new people and having a good time with them and you shouldn’t limit yourself to the same group of people. 

In the last few months I travelled a lot and I got to really think about my decision to leave my hometown in order to study. I’ve been trying to persuade myself to leave for a long time and I feel very relieved now that I’m actually doing it. I believe that the hardest part is to leave my friends and not see them everyday anymore and also leave the city I grew up in. I was also very surprised to feel sad about a new friend I made a couple of months ago who she left Greece yesterday. But that made me realise that there is more people out there that I will meet and be friends with, interesting people with their own stories and backgrounds and more places for me to see and fit in to. So, I guess this whole year felt like a fair goodbye. I will miss everyone and everything I used to do but I am ready to take the next step in life and let my big adventure begin. There’s more to come.
