“3AM” at Hudson Hughes Gallery.
Opening on September 9th, 2017 is the online group exhibition “3AM” at Hudson Hughes Gallery.
“3am is the hour for witches, spirits, magic, and introspection. In many areas of folklore, it is the time when the veil between our world and the other side is the thinnest. It is known as the Devil’s Hour, because Christ is said to have been crucified at the opposite time, 3pm. It is the darkest and coldest part of the night, and when ghosts and spells are said to be at their most powerful. In that way, it reminds us of the old festival of Samhain, when the same powerful effects were understood and celebrated. We have asked our artists to create darker, deeper works to reflect these things. We are very pleased to bring you this enigmatic and evocative show, illustrating the mystery surrounding the Witching Hour.”
Artists include (above): Patricia Ariel, Michelle Avery, Jeremy Cross, Patrick Thai and John Walker.
