Something Died Today

Something died today. It died its final and most indefinite death, the deepest death there is. It was not sudden or the least bit surprising, it died like all things that once lived hopeful for the next moment should die, at peace with the current one. Harnessed only by dainty understandings; me of you, and you of me, the box holding the carcass untethered itself. Free from any promise to hold on, it free fell, alone, into a hole dug to hold hundred of souls, somehow fitting snuggly into place. An ode to the extent and weight of the death that it died and whom it left behind.- mznks
