In light of everything that’s happened, why not be the guy who died and rose three days later? Technically speaking, it happened already (though it wasn’t three days). He can put his artistic side to good use by zombifying himself up for the night and, because he’s Noah, he’ll be the one person most people don’t dress up as for Halloween unless they’re being assholes. And it’s a fun gag that Noah still doesn’t know he’s a scion.

Dead or undead, the invitation said, so she payed homage to some of her favorite ghouls: Morticia Addams, and all the B-movie vampires that came after, with their low-cut dresses and red lips.

(Maybe it’s wishful thinking that had her talk Raziel into a couple’s costume – maybe the Addamses & their unyielding, ardent, argumentless devotion might rub off on them, at least for a night.)

Born into nobility, highly educated, and extremely vain. People hear Elizabeth Bathory and think of her bathing in blood. But that would be doing her injustice. She could speak and write two languages in a time that was unheard of for women and struck such fear and revelation in the villagers that they did nothing. She was richer than the lords themselves and had all the say. Considered the most beautiful woman in Hungrary, she bathed in blood not just to attain the youthful look, but also because she got off on their lives ending.

Dark feathers weaved into frayed, braided hair, loose and wild. The Morrigan, the Phantom Queen of Irish mythology, is many things: a war goddess, appearing in crow form above battlegrounds, inspiring courage, joining battle, and foretelling deaths; the banshee whose scream is a premonition of doom; the witch who would be known as Morgana le Fay, associated with King Arthur.

In armor dented by use and polished by hand, a tendency to appear in the crux of battle with wings outstretched, to predict deaths, forewarn disaster–the Morrigan, flickering in and out of historical record.

Every killer, thief, and cheat knows not to rely on one another, but there’s a strange fragile trust between criminals, isn’t there? These two haven’t quite reached the status of the original ride or die pair, they’ll have to cut the shit on the petty squabbling first – but at least this time, they’ll come dressed to be guilty on arrival.

Challenge 030: “Danse Macabre”

Crowley loves comic books and she adored Zatanna. I mean, who wouldn’t? She had the fishnets, she had the heels, she has the spotlight-loving but loner personality. Besides, she also gets to carry around a tiny wand and hit people with when they’re not moving fast enough at the bar.  And “amaze” people with magic tricks so it should be a solid night. Add a few macabre makeup touches and she’s all ready to go.

Honestly, Oscar Wilde is a style icon and someone that Isaiah looks up to. What better way to honour him than to have dress inspired by him? Gold accents pinned in his hair and painted on his nails are, to Isaiah, a representation of the works Oscar Wilde held in his mind and gave with his hands — or really just that Isaiah likes to be fancy. Take your pick.

Disney Princesses always held a special place with Shibah. They taught generations that following your dreams and going after what you want to do is okay, even if the rest of the world frowns on your ideas. Ariel especially because of her want to see a world different than her own. Even though she was a princess she refused to be put in the typical princess box no matter what her father tried to tell her. This reminded Shibah of her days of being human and being told that she should be a proper girl and that she should leave painting to the men. Of course since the party was a Halloween one, she had to put a twist on it. After watching a few youtube tutorials she got to work and put her painting skills to good use. It was challenging at first but she’s proud of what it turned out looking like.

Little Red Riding Hood & The Big Bad Wolf

The fairy tale was dark to begin with, a murderous wolf and a little girl. Is it really so hard to believe that that the basket she carried also held a weapon for her protection? A single gunshot from an expert hunter managed to fell the beast, but not before it got in a few swipes of its own.

Tabitha didn’t get into Star Wars for a long time, but she loved Carrie Fisher a lot. If there’s anyone Tabby wanted to live forever, it was her - she calls this her way of writing the wrong.

What better way to celebrate the most horror filled holiday of the year than the epitome of terror. The Exorcist sparked Zack’s love for all things horror, and it was easy enough for him to gather the pieces of his costume, and get as close to authentic as possible. He’d even managed to get some blessed Holy Water to become Father Merrin.

What’s more in the spirit of Halloween and the supposed world ending than a dead Horseman? Gabe’s sense of humor is on point, coming in with her signature style of black on black on black but paired with a horse mask and a deathly pallor to her skin. She thinks it’s funny because there’s nothing funnier than a dead Horseman.

“I look alive. I’m dead inside. My heart has holes and black blood flows.”

While it may have been Renee’s idea, Paul couldn’t deny how excited he was to be a vampire for one night. Vampires are charming, elegant, and seductive - all the things Paul isn’t and would love to be. At least on Halloween night, he could pretend he was someone stronger, faster, and much sexier than he was. If you look closely enough you’ll notice a few of his top buttons are missing. Renee did dress him up, after all.

And then, there is that one strange feeling - the one inescapable realization that since being summoned back, Paul has felt different. Rationally he knows he looks the same, logically he knows he’s still Paul - but can anyone truly come back from the dead untouched? This persona is a mirror, one the Howell boy has been too afraid to look into. 

Maybe there is a part of him that died after all. Maybe he’s much more like a vampire than he’d ever admit.

Wings clipped. A life cut short. Adele embodies the ghostly figure that was once Wendy Darling. Clothed only in a vintage lace, full length gown, and her hair half pulled back in a single black bow — it’s the makeup that gives her the allure of the dead with a deception of life still left in her. Broken wings hang off her back from the hands that held her to the ground, granting her the wish she’d made once — never to grow up. She won’t as the dead rarely do. But her love for the shadow that she continues to see, dressed all in black, hasn’t faded.
