That said, thanks to my Tomodachi game, I'm now headcanoning Vergil as an avid seafood lover. (my Vergil Mii's fav is smoked salmon, but loathes hates melon)

Vergil being a seafood lover headcanons:
Dante, Nero and Lady took Vergil to seafood boil once and at first he didn't see any point in dining in a restaurant and paying to crack your own food but after that? He became a seafood boil fiend.
Every time the dmc crew go, they always ask Vergil to crack open their seafood boil
He's got the technique™ down
ALWAYS manages to get the meat out in the cleanest and most efficient way possible (not a single meat is left behind in the shell).
Not just because Vergil's really good at knowing how/where to crack the crab legs in order to get every bit of meat out, but he's also scarily fast at doing it (big shocker!)
Is always the first one to finish his boil
Dante's the messy one when having sea food boil (I'm talking man's got sauce on each corner of his mouth) but that doesn't mean Vergil doesn't have his moments
If Vergil's sucking the heads of a shrimp or crawfish, sometimes he'll get a little bit of sauce on the corner of his mouth too which earns a laugh out of everyone (I mean, come on, imagine a 6'5 man with chiseled features with sauce on the corner of his mouth wearing a bib that says 'I'm too cute to be crabby🦀' glaring a hole into your head for laughing?)
DOESN'T mind sushi but definitely prefers sashimi!!
not a picky eater by default (I mean, this man has eaten demon eat (given for survival) but there really isnt much else he wouldn't eat) but he would much rather eat sashimi over rainbow roll or smth along the lines of that
He just wants to enjoy the taste of the fish without any sauce or garnish (he's a simple man)
Loves LOVES Salmon. Smoked salmon or real salmon, give that man a plate of salmon and he'll gladly eat that shit up (Dante likes to tell Nero and Kyrie's orphans that they're taking care of that Vergil once wrestled a bear over a fat piece of salmon in a river and lost (which earns a mirage sword right into Dante's back)
Would be down to eat live octopus or san-nakji. He isn’t turned off by the tentacles still moving around (much to Nero and Dante's dismay)
Would love sinigang na hipon. He appreciates the sourness of the soap and how it compliments the seafood-taste of the shrimp together
