First Harvest from my potted herb garden! There's something so rewarding about planting a seed, cultivating the sprout until it's ready to harvest, and then making something delicious. Today is the day. The day I assume a title I have been striving towards for the last 7 years. My focus will shift, from just the good of the plate to the good of the team, and I will begin, again, to strive for the next step. One year ago today I asked this beautiful woman to marry me. We hadn't been together all that long, we weren't at all prepared to put together a wedding, but I knew that she was what I wanted and there was nothing else that would make me happier than to spend the rest of our lives together. So I asked anyway, and she said yes :) She is the best part of me, the kindest, most compassionate person I know... She is understanding and supportive of my life as a chef, the long hours and the unpredictable days. We are truly yin and yang, compliments to and of each other. And someday, we will say I Do. Whenever that day will come, I've never looked forward to something so much, and I am still as excited to marry her today as I was the day I asked. I love you, thank you for being you.
