Alone I stand, among the stone,
This is the place I call my home.ย
The cracks in which my roots do grow,
This is the place my seed did sow.
I bare a head, a stem and leaves,
This is the place I dance with ease.
People come and look so pleased,
That I have not torn within the breeze.
The frost it stings, when it does come,
No warmth for me, when winter comes.
I will still stand, small as your thumb,
With colour near the like of plums.
So alone I stand, among the stone,
With people passing to and fro.
This place that I do call my home,
Within the crack, within the stone.ย
