Seeing the woman’s notes surrounding the table made Jules grin, it pleased her to see the cafe being used for a late night study session, rather then a drunk recovery spot. Seeing as the woman’s platted pastry was gone Jules offered up part of hers to the other by sliding it towards the other, “Scone? It’s blueberry,” her voice soft, matching the atmosphere around her. As the question of her beverage came up, her gaze dropped to the hot beverage covered in whipped cream and cinnamon, “Hot cocoa, best time of the year for it, and a little trick an old friend taught me, a hint of cinnamon. What about you?”
Ciara graciously took the half of a scone offered. "Really? Thanks!” It was gestures like this that restored her faith in the human race at times. Rather than be suspicious, which was often her default reaction Ciara had been working on being more open to people and new experiences. “I should try that sometime, it looks absolutely delicious. Well, I’ve been sticking to tea and coffee mostly. Nothing too sugary or I’ll get distracted.” Ciara grinned. At that moment the barista brought over a fresh cup of coffee that she requested. “Are you a student too? What brings you out this late?”
