I do find it interesting how Jason has now come to expect that Bruce won't actually talk to him about this. It's happened so many times that Jason is now ready for the inevitable topic change before Bruce can do it himself.

Thinking about writing a fic where a bunch of conspiracy theorists decide to look into Jason's death and make a youtube docu-series "exposing the truth". They would, somehow, come to the conclusion that Bruce Wayne is a secretly a huge underground criminal that covered it all up.

I started outlining this btw and the more I write, the more I want to make an Actual documentary fic. But there is no conceivable way that 1. Bruce would allow it to be made, and 2. They wouldn't find out about him being Robin

#very fun comics today #i read ntt 26-31 plus some other minor things which were all super interesting #unfortunately i did add two new characters to my list of ppl though 😭 never ending fs

I do find it interesting how anytime the Titans talk about missing Dick, or getting him back, Jason stays silent. I figured at first that it was just the writers simply having more important things for the other Titans to say, but there are several moments where Jason joins the conversation. Only, he doesn't say anything about Dick:

That first panel is just after Donna goes to save Joey alone, telling the rest of them to stay on-mission to help Dick and Raven. The second one is in the same conversation where Kori had been talking about her worries over Dick. There are a few other talks like this as well.

Rather than joining on it though, Jason instead focuses on other notable parts of the conversation, like Donna's strength for choosing to fight alone or how the people don't seem to want their help.

It's this panel that made me think more about it. He sees an unconscious Dick Grayson being dragged away and, when Jason thinks about him, it's... unfamiliar. Because yeah. Dick is a stranger. They don't know eachother. I mean, up until this, the only real interaction I'd seen them have was when Dick showed up at the cave wanting to talk to Bruce, ignoring Jason's attempts to talk.

Hell, even in the previous NTT run, we find out that Dick moved out as soon as Jason was taken in. What, exactly, could Jason have had to say about him during any of this?

It's just wild to realize, I guess. I've seen posts and mentions in fics about them having little to no relationship, but it's so different and almost sad to actually read it happening, especially already knowing what's to come.

That is so wild?? I mean... Dick is literally Nightwing during this. In this same issue, Jason confronts Donna about treating him like he's Dick when he isn't. How do the literal writers possibly confuse this 😭

I mean, Dick was actively going full "no one cares and nothing lasts forever" loner mode during the Switzerland thing when Roy found out. Bro was getting captured by Brother Blood (which lasted on for several issues), there is no conceivable way it could have been Dick 😭 Writers what were you guys thinking lmao

Also somewhat unrelated, but Starfire is so... smart? She's making tactical decisions and quippy comebacks and talking about what is basically war strategy. Everything she's done so far has been calculated and thought out, even in split-second decision moments.

Why tf do people write her like she's mindless??????
