anyways i was binge rewatching childhood movies and remembered these queens

I don’t really like kaiju movies. I find them to be really boring and repetitive. The 2014 Godzilla film was alright, but I didn’t like it enough to want to watch any of the other Monsterverse films. And while the trailers for Godzilla Minus One did catch my eye back in 2023, I wasn’t that interested in watching it because I didn’t think I’d get much out of it.

So tonight I was browsing through streaming, couldn’t find anything worth my time and just happened to stumble upon Godzilla Minus One. I figured why not. A big dumb monster film. That should pass the time.

Guys, I was not prepared for how much of an emotional wreck this film would turn me into. I was full blown ugly crying at the end. Why the fuck would you do this to me? I just wanted to watch a silly movie about a giant radioactive lizard. I wasn’t expecting them to rip my heart out with compelling postwar drama, multi-layered characters, and the cutest and most talented child actor to ever appear in a film. What are you doing to me? I’m still sobbing even as I’m typing this 😭😭😭

If I’m not there to watch the sequel in the cinema on opening night, it’s because I’m dead.
