Who’s Alistair?: The main muse. He’s a 300+ year-old vampire who runs an apple orchard and cider mill in a remote, forested village in Scotland.
Who’s Nial? Who’s Liam?: Those are also Al. Nial MacAlasdair is the name he had before he was turned into a vampire. Liam is his middle name, and also his alias when he needs one.
Who’s Connor?: His right-hand man and assistant. He works hard and actually does get paid enough, but acts like he doesn’t.
Who’s Rodric/Roderick?: Alistair’s older brother, also a vampire. Unlike Alistair, he eats people sometimes.
Who’s Hilda?: Alistair’s old flame from the 70′s. She’s really cool.
What’s Alston?: The village! Al helped found it, and they used his name as a placeholder for the village as a joke. It stuck.
