Here's my commission from @johannathemad !!! THEYRE SO CUTE!!! Thank you so much for doing this!! 😭😭😭
we should treat love as something to be built rather than found
when we treat love as something sacred and rare, we miss opportunities to critically engage with it or even explore different types of love. when we treat love as sacred and something to be found, we are implying that the relationship and construction of love is perfect from its inception. that prevents open dialogue and transfer of ideas and definitions of what relationships are and what is desired from them
when we treat love as something to be built, we allow for the opportunity to love anyone we meet and the threat of finding The One fades. when we treat love as something to be built, we allow for nuance in any and all our relationships and for those relationships to hold more weight on our lives. when we treat love as something to be built, it becomes a communal act, rather than something we do alone
no but for real, ichigo was insane for the whole soul society arc. the man walks into enemy territory barely knowing what awaits him, not caring about who awaits him there because he swore on his soul that he will save rukia no matter what, every time he shows up in front of rukia he’s doing it in the most chivalrous and showy way possible, like landing into a kneeling position??? waiting for the very last moment right before the soukyoku strikes so he could swoop in like a knight in the shining armour?? that bird was supposed to be the real shit and ichigo just turns his back on it and holds it back with one hand like /do you mind????? we’re having a conversation here/. and he was like that not only @ the bird but also @ all these supposedly scary and powerful captains and lieutenants that stood nearby because nah, these old men can wait too, while he is having his “….. yo :)” moment with rukia. and while we’re on the topic!! no one is buying that nonchalant attitude, he knew exactly how cool he will look saying that. it was INTENTIONAL, he wanted to look cool and strong in front of rukia and others. and that’s not all, he then spins zangetsu in the most disgustingly mocking fashion and then swings it down like /fuck your sacred sacrifical stand/ while these ppl are just still standing there like you dare?? and ichigo in fact DARES. And that’s still. not. all. because then, when he fights byakuya, he continues to drop lines like “the power in my hands was gained for her sake” and “i’ll make you cry while apologizing to rukia” and he tells byakuya to hurry his ass up and pull out his bankai so he can destroy it? the absolute MADMAN. he’s purposely flexing his own bankai and keeps grinning because his confidence and resolve are That Strong. he’s fighting for the right thing, he needs to win, so he will win. like, whew no wonder everyone was a bleach stan back in those days because no one did it like him. soul society arc ichigo was the cockiest lil shit and he’s a king for that, and also he was purposely manifesting that big dick energy so people will think twice next time they try to hurt rukia. every single fight and all the bravado was for her and he was proud of being able to grow stronger for her and thanks to her.
tout les garcons et les filles
I’m late but halloween outfit switch :)
quick scribbles of the idea rukia shatters in her bankai form and rains over ichigo
Inherited from the dad (?)
mentions of the rain in nabokov’s Lolita
ichiruki + ishihime son: rukia and souken are off in their own little world while Ichigo gets paid dirt by both of them
ishihime + ichiruki daughter: uryuu and orihime were Absolutely Not Ready for this chaotic force of nature, there’s been $500 of property damage, their bathroom is flooded, and they’re both on the verge of dying but Hisana has never been cleaner or neater
Real talk, as a teacher in England I can confirm that the British government does everything and anything to avoid teaching the true extent of colonial history to English kids.
You ask a modern English teenager about Northern Ireland and they probably can’t tell you about fucking anything currently going on there bar ‘I think we weren’t nice to them’, and that’s the country next fucking door so you know they don’t know shit about India or the Middle East.
The English government PURPOSEFULLY does not teach English children the real in’s and out’s of the British Empire despite a recent call to ‘widen the breadth of our curriculum’ because then where would our football hooligans who defend statues come from?
Have a good conversation with any bald headed English bloke wearing an England football shirt with an EDL tattoo and test his knowledge of the Empire he loves so much. 100 quid he knows fuck all beyond ‘we civilized those people!’
And this is why no one fucking likes us, because there’s no active effort to teach our younger generations why we were wrong or how to make things better, but there’s a clear educational agenda to shield young English children from any extensive criticism of England.
Hey look criticism of colonialism that doesn’t focus on America.
Fear is never born from nothing. It is born from the tiny insecurities that linger within our hearts. If you wield your blade without regard for your own life, you will find yourself unable to protect anything. kuchiki byakuya for jess @saeitoshi
