Hi guys! It’s official! I have relocated 1000.73 miles, and lived to tell the tale! Here’s how the first day went down.

Check In 

For check in, you will need:

Your 12+ page boarding pass

Valid forms of ID for your I-9 (a list can be found here, and also in The Vault)

The email with your final check in time (sent to you a few days before)

Registration and insurance if you have a car

THE ONE WITH THE COUNTDOWN

T-minus one month, four days, twenty two hours, six minutes, and fifty two seconds!!! But who’s counting.

A few pre-arrival tips:

-If you are leaving university for a semester, make sure your financial aid is settled. I will be having an awesome conversation with the financial aid department today, because I was lazy and waited until the last minute.

-If you are bringing a car, double check that you have your registration and insurance. It also doesn’t hurt to get your car checked out, especially for the older ones. You don’t want to spend your program doing intensive car repairs. I personally am hitching up my 98 civic, and being towed to Florida. Great option for cars with a million miles.

Check the vault for my packing list, and an at-a-glance map of the area that I created, since I had trouble finding one. Please don’t abduct me.
