before and after injecting 1 meth
me: “that Pokemon looks cool” Some buttman: “sure, but it’s attack stat is shit and not to mention it’s ability makes it worthless. It’s move pool is so shallow, it can’t even learn good tms. Not to mention that it’s 4x weak to fire.” Me: “he go swoosh swoosh and its cute”
If I travelled back in time and tried to explain this text to young me, there’s literally no way.

The best part about Zuko was that even before it was hinted that he was going to be good, we were routing for him. Not necessarily in the first two episodes but when you get to The Southern Air Temple, you’re genuinely rooting for him when he and Zhao are fighting. You want him to win the Agni Kai. And since then, there have been other small scenes where you want Zuko to win, you want him to succeed, even if succeeding means something bad for our heroes. Look at the way we cheered for him and Iroh against the Earth Kingdom soldiers, the Blue Spirit episode, when he gets blown up via the blasting jelly, even when he takes Aang across the snowy terrain. Part of you is rooting for him, part of you wants him to win. I’d add all of the scenes from Book Two, but by that point, the dynamic is a bit different. By that point, most of us wanted Zuko to be good and then that feeling only increased by Book Three. But Book One gave us episodes where we still rooted for the villain while realizing that he was the villain and not expecting that to change. And Avatar’s really the only thing I can think of that ever made me do that.
Take me there!
