OOOHH, Lovely
I'm at a town parade and there are the usual firetrucks and dance studios and marching bands. And there are So. Many. Churches. And one had a float with a band singing - and I kid you not - how there is only one god and one savior and he will save you from your sins.
Really?
Ok. I'm okay. Tests are negative.
idk anything about this but I love it
Happy Pride!
Every pride, you must reblog this. No exceptions
Anyone gonna mention how this guy actually preformed live with Carly Rae Jepsen?
I’m gonna scream is2g
I was thinking of reblogging this again just because the original video is still amazing, but then I see the second video and lost my mind. The upgraded fan, the body glitter, the sheer fact that he got to do this with the actual singer.
I dashco myself lol. Guess that's a product of - what's it called?
Day drinking. Yep.
So apparently if you get to have a massive needle in a part of your body, you get to day drink. *Checks prescription and aftercare notes* yep it's right there. Doc said so.
All jazzed up on pain killers, Ativan, a bit of day drinking....I mean what could go wrong?
Nothing. Nothing can go wrong especially when there is a drug-induced delightful nap following.e
I think just the fact that I have to have yet another biopsy validates the purchase of a large bottle of vodka.
The real crap part of this is I have no idea when the procedure will happen. There is a very strange supply issue with the specific needle used for it. All of us freaked out women just have to wait to find out if it's nothing or everything.
Aaaannd this is now happening on Wednesday. I got my Ativan and emotional support surgical bra. I'm excited!
Mmmkay. From messages and comments it seems you ARE actually interested in my Italiano Vaca. I've tagged it now so if ya don't wanna see a middle aged woman's vacation photos, then feel free to skip it.
Here's part 3 of things I saw and things I did:
Actually I'm just gonna call this post Alleys because that was my shot everywhere I went. The ones at sunset or lit up at night were the best and I've already posted or I can't add any more photos to this post. Thanks Tumblr.
Here are some sights I saw and things I did part 2:
Here are some sights I saw and things I did part 1:
Here are some foods I ate and drinks I drank part due:
This limoncello was a small batch I bought from a tour. It was just this one man who picked us up and brought us to his little olive orchard and then we went to his grandparents house for a mini buffet and a tasting of olive oil, balsamic vinegars, limoncello, and wines. All things they make.
The caponata from part 1 I've added again, because this was the house of the 85 yo woman who made it.
This is hands down the best olive oil I have ever had. Smelled like fresh grass and lemons? and tasted of olives and butter.
Anyway, the rest of these are more yums. The espresso was in many of the inns I stayed in. You know how you usually get a coffee maker and horrible coffee in a packet? My rooms had little espresso pod machines and tiny cups.
Here are some foods I ate and drinks I drank part 1:
That video is an eggplant "mille-feuille" that changed my life. I had it twice in two different places. This one was hard to capture as you saw, because the top had a crust of caramelized eggplant edges and mozzarella. The other in the next photo was soft as butter with shaved parmesan.
The jar of something doesn't look like much, but it was caponata that an 85 year old grandmother made that I won't allow myself to eat in one sitting. But more about that in part due.
I know no one wants a vacation photo dump. I know many of you have been here several times.
But this. It was almost too perfect.
Things I learned on this trip in Italy:
I was told BUT it's true! My body has no problem with the gluten here! I have been eating all the things!
I didn't think I liked aperol. I don't really, but as a spritz, I'm very okay with it.
Plastic water bottle caps! Stay! On the bottle!
Any restaurant will freely let non patrons use their restroom.
Honestly - it's all cheaper. And helpful things like trolley carts for bags are free. $7 in Logan.
You can literally drink booze anywhere. I've never had so many take-away cocktails.
Ditto for smoking (mostly). It's like 1999 over here.
Trastevere is hands down the coolest neighborhood in Rome. Staying there was a dream.
Naples. Oh Naples. Your nitty grittiness was surely appreciated.
This one's for @cloudydaysometimes - I happened to be staying at the same little boutique hotel where they were filming the TV series Young Sherlock right outside. A couple of big stars are in it, and they even used the hotel rooms as their green room.
NBD that one of them was Colin Firth.
