Hank heard Kurtâs call while in the storage room, checking inventory. He walked out calmly, writing a few items down on an invoice. A small pang of anxiety thumped in his chest as he considered his words. Whether Kurt was here to find out why he was still restricted from field operations or not, Hank knew heâd have to tell him. He couldnât risk letting it sit any longer, and Kurt needed to know now that Lance was fully recovered.
No matter what, it wasnât going to be easy. First, he figured heâd listen to Kurtâs request first. âHello, Kurt!â he said with a friendly tone, still looking at the clipboard while walking over. âHow are you doing today?â
âHello!â A big smile appeared on Kurtâs face as soon as he spotted his old teacher approaching. âOh, Iâm great! Sorry for walking in like this all of a sudden.â Beast seemed to be in the middle of something, judging from the clipboard in his hands, so Kurt didnât want to take up a lot of time. The room did seem much quieter without the machines running like they did while lance recovered. âIf itâs important, I can wait and come back later.â He would need an answer eventually but getting in the way of Doctor McCoyâs job for something like that felt wrong.
âReally, I just need your permission for something,â he added after a moment. Nightcrawler casually stuffed both hands inside his pants pockets. Shifting his weight from one foot to the other, Kurt stood there with his usual cheerful calm, waiting for whatever came next.Â
